For the six months prior to our wedding, Brian and I went to the gym at least three times a week. Not only did we lose weight, we felt better overall, and had so much more energy. I came home from my honeymoon pregnant, and a couple months later, we cancelled our gym membership. I haven't exercised regularly since then, and boy can I tell!
I have plenty of excuses as to why I don't exercise, but the main one is time. Since I work full time and only get to see my kids for a couple hours each day during the week, I don't have time to go to a gym. Brian and I tried working out to some exercise videos a few months ago, but that got old real quick...I was bored, and started using my blog as an excuse as to why I didn't have time to exercise after the kids went to bed. I used to love getting my cardio in at the gym on an elliptical machine, and that is what I wanted to do.
Well as of last week, I have no more excuses. My Smooth Fitness elliptical trainer was delivered to my house, so now my quest to get fit can begin!

Family Fun At Busch Gardens & Rylie's First Roller Coaster
As I mentioned in my Residence Inn Review yesterday, we headed to Tampa a couple weekends ago for some family fun at Busch Gardens. We have had annual passes for a while, and this year we vowed to use them more than once!
After a late night of goofing off in the hotel, the kids were up bright and early, ready to head out to Busch Gardens on a beautiful, sunny day. It was a little cool out when we left the hotel, but we knew the sun would warm things up. Nothing like "winter" in Florida!

Residence Inn By Marriott Tampa North {Review}
I have been a "Resident Mom" for almost a year now, and have had the pleasure of experiencing some Residence Inn properties throughout this past year. I became totally spoiled after our stay at the Residence Inn Treasure Island last summer, and since then, staying at a "regular hotel" just won't do. You see, Residence Inn is so much more than just a hotel...it is a home away from home.
A couple weekends ago we were headed to Tampa to visit Busch Gardens for the day, and rather than drive down early in the morning and then drive back the same night, we decided to make a weekend out of it. We drove over to Tampa Friday evening after Brian got off work and checked in at the Residence Inn Tampa North. This property provides quick access to University of South Florida, Busch Gardens, Adventure Island, Museum of Science and Industry (MOSI), Hard Rock Casino, Moffitt Cancer Center and many others.

Ring Bling Game From Super Duper Publications {Review & Giveaway}
We love playing games at our house. My husband and I have always played games with his family when we visit for any holiday, even before we had children. Now that Haley is a bit older, we have a few classics that she loves to play, and she is always either looking for a new game to play or creating a new way to play some of the games that we already have. She will be 4 soon, and even though we have to sometimes help her a bit, she usually gets the concept of whatever we are playing pretty quickly (and quite honestly, she has beaten us both more times than we care to admit!)
When I heard that I was going to review a game from Super Duper Publications and that I could go to the site and choose one, I had a hard time selecting one! They have SO many options to choose from! I first clicked on the about us link and got the company history and information. How unique that this company has such a "family" feel and you can see that it was started by two people that still run it. I love products that come from a family company! I read that the couple started making products to assist in various fields of therapy for children and that the products are used by therapists and schools. I then clicked on the parents link and loved all of the FAQ's that they posted for parents. Many of the questions that are answered there pertain to different disabilities that children have. I think it is awesome that you can go to their search bar and type a number of different disabilities, and several games/tools pop up that are tailored to that disability (I typed in Autism and ADD (attention deficit disorder) and got instant results). I am sure that this is helpful to parents who are looking for resources for their children.

Five Question Friday - February 22nd
Happy Friday all! I gotta say, I am exhausted. I know I say that a lot, but wow, it has hit me this week for real. We have been gone the last two weekends, so we've gotten behind on pretty much everything...especially laundry. Since the kids have a gazillion outfits and I only have like 5, I have made my laundry a priority while theirs just kept piling up. Thursday morning Rylie came downstairs from getting dressed and informed me that she had taken the last pair of clean undies out of her drawer. So guess what I started last night?
Yep, those are my mountains of Rylie and Bryce laundry. It's just such a daunting task - sorting, pre-treating stains, pulling Rylie's almost-too-small shirts out of the dryer after a few minutes so they don't shrink, folding and putting everything away - that I just put it off for as long as I can. But hey, I don't want my kid having to go to school commando! Although I may have had a fleeting thought that she had clean bathing suits. ;-)

Fun Games And Cool Stickers From Peaceable Kingdom {Review & Giveaway}
One thing I love about blogging and writing product reviews is learning about new companies that I may not have heard of if it weren't for the "blogosphere". I especially like it when I find a company that makes products specifically for children that are not only fun, but educational too. One such company I recently learned about is Peaceable Kingdom. Since 1983, Peaceable Kingdom has created "fresh, fun, award-winning products for kids that educate, inspire and tickle funny bones!" They started out with one product, and nearly 30 years later, Peaceable Kingdom is a leader in juvenile stickers, greeting cards, and cooperative games.
We were recently given the chance to review a couple of the great products from Peaceable Kingdom, which I knew my kids would love. Rylie and Bryce are just getting into board games and have a great time playing them, and Rylie absolutely loves stickers, so I was excited to receive the Glowing Fairies Sticker Activity Poster Book and The Great Cheese Chase Board Game.

Happy Valentine's Day!
Happy Valentine's Day from my little Valentines! I hope everyone has a wonderful day with their loved ones. May you all be showered with candy, flowers, and of course, sparkly jewelry!
The kids are at school today, and they are both so excited for their Valentine's Day parties! I made up little treat bags last night for them to pass out to their friends today. They started with Pixy Stix Valentine's for Rylie's friends, and she wrote her name on all of them. (The teachers ask us not to fill out the "to" field, so it makes them easier for the kids to pass out.) Bryce has SpongeBob Valentines for his friends - complete with gummy crabby patties!

Tea Time With Sophia Grace And Rosie {Review & Giveaway}
Haley, like most little girls, loves anything about princesses. She even chose princess Valentines this year to hand out at school. When I heard about a book coming out called "Tea Time with Sophia Grace and Rosie" featuring everything little girls love: tea time, colorful tutus, and adorable stuffed-animal friends, I knew it would be a book that Haley (and soon Kennedy) would enjoy.
I had seen Sophia Grace and Rosie on the "Ellen" show, and was amazed at how Sophia Grace sung the Nicki Minaj song. I am not even sure I know the correct words as an adult. I showed Haley the clip of the show back when it first came out, but when I knew we were getting this book, I showed her again. She LOVED it and had to watch it several more times.

Mega Bloks® Barbie® Build 'N Style Pet Shop {Review & Giveaway}
When my kids are watching TV, they are usually watching movies on DVD, or shows without commercials. Lately, though, the TV has been on certain channels for kids that show toy commercials, and my kids are paying attention. The one commercial that continues to catch Rylie's eye is the commercial for the new Mega Bloks® Barbie® toys. Every time she sees that commercial she always says "oooh Mommy, can we get that?" She got a dollhouse and a bunch of Barbie® dolls for Christmas, and ever since then, she has been obsessed with everything Barbie®.
When I was asked if Rylie and I wanted to review the Mega Bloks® Barbie® Build 'n Style Pet Shop, of course I said yes. I knew Rylie would be thrilled! When the box showed up on our front porch a couple weeks ago, she couldn't wait to play with her new toy!

Rylie Was A Beautiful Fairy At Fairy Portrait Studios
I haven't been very good about getting professional portraits taken of my kids. We had pictures taken at the hospital when they were born, and we bought the "professional" pictures from daycare twice a year. I thought that was enough. It is only in recent months that I look back and really wish I had more professional photos of the kids and our family, so I am getting better about having them done now.
Back in November, my best friend Melissa told me about Fairy Portrait Studios. From the second I looked at their website, I knew I wanted to take Rylie for a photo shoot. After all, you can't go to just any portrait studio and get beautiful, one of a kind photos of your child like this...

Gearing Up To Tone Up With Smooth Fitness #SmoothBlogger
If you have been a long time follower of this blog, then you know that I have lost a bunch of weight over the last couple of years. When I gave birth to Bryce I was over 200 pounds, and I didn't lose too much of that after he was born. Several months went by and I found myself trying on size 16 jeans one day and I decided that enough was enough. I wanted to be small again. I wanted to feel pretty.
I lost a lot of weight on Nutrisystem back in 2011, and I have lost more in recent months with Visalus. It has been a long road, but I am finally to a point where I actually like what I see when I look in the mirror. I weigh around 135 pounds now, which is the smallest I have been since my college days. My appearance has changed drastically over the past three years, and I'm almost completely satisfied with the way I look now.

Five Question Friday - February 8th
Happy Friday! It's been a pretty exciting week here! The company I work for got a HUGE contract last week, and I found out last Friday that I would be getting a promotion because of it. I will essentially be responsible for all of the financial aspects of the contract. For now, this is in addition to the two jobs I already do, but if the workload gets to be too much, we will be hiring someone to help me out. I'm excited and a little nervous all at the same time. This program financial responsibility is pretty new for me, and we'll be doing it all on a new accounting system too. For the next couple of months I will be buried at work as we get this going, so things may be a little quieter than normal here.
My wild Saturday night last weekend was because of my company's big win. They had a celebration party, and it turned into a very late night for a few of us. We had a great time, but since I don't party like a rock star all that often, it took me a few days to get over that. Combine that three day hangover with an increased workload, and this week ended up being pretty exhausting.
The week is ending on a good note because I am feeling like such a proud mommy right now! We had our second conference with Rylie's teacher yesterday, and she is doing extremely well! There will be more on that next week, but for now, I have to finish up this post and get some rest before our fun weekend that starts tomorrow. We're headed to Tampa for the weekend to check out another Residence Inn and spend a day at Busch Gardens. The kids are so beyond excited to stay in a hotel again!

Sweets For Your Sweet From Ghirardelli {Review}
When you think of Valentine's Day, what comes to mind? For many people, the thought of a box of chocolates is right there at the top of the list. Valentine's Day and chocolate just GO together. Of course, flowers are great too, but they just don't taste quite as good as a piece (or ten) of creamy milk chocolate.
I'm pretty much a chocolate snob, and for me, any old chocolate just won't do. Ghirardelli has always been one of my favorite brands of chocolate, and I recently received a sweet package from them. Inside this little box were several of their chocolate squares, along with a new product...just in time for Valentine's Day.

Give Some Ring Pop Bling This Valentine's Day {Giveaway}
Who wants a little bling for Valentine's Day this year? I certainly wouldn't be upset if my Valentine gave me something sparkly! (hint, hint)

Yes. I Bribe My Kids.
Remember last week when I posted my Wordless Wednesday about bribing the kids with candy for a picture before school? Someone left a comment that said "They won't pose for you without bribery?" and the truth is that no, they usually won't. Children of bloggers are constantly asked to pose for the camera, and they get tired of it...usually very quickly. So yeah, these days, I bribe them for smiles.
But that's not all. I bribe my kids for all kinds of stuff...to go pee on the potty (when they were being potty trained), to behave at school, to be nice to each other, etc. It isn't so much as a bribe as it is a little reward for doing something I want them to do. Kids can be stubborn, and if you're a parent, then you know that. Now, this isn't an every day occurrence, but sometimes kids just need a little extra encouragement.
This week's bribe has to do with a doctor visit. Rylie had her 5 year well check today, and she had been anxious about it ever since I told her last week she had to go. Ever since she had those blasted Rocephin shots as a baby, along with all of the tests she had when she was having tummy troubles, she has had anxiety at the doctor's office. She first asked if she had to get a shot, which she didn't, and I assured her of that, and then she asked if they were going to take her blood pressure. For whatever reason, Rylie is scared to death of that blood pressure cuff.

Toy Nanny From 2 Red Hens Studio {Review & Giveaway}
I was recently able to review a Toy Nanny from 2 Red Hens Studio and let me tell you that I am so thankful to them for the opportunity. Previously when taking my daughter outside to play I would lug a blanket and a bunch of toys separately. With the Toy Nanny, those days are gone!
They Toy Nanny might look like just a regular tote bag in the photos above, but it is way more than that! It is also a cozy floor blanket that your baby can play on, and then it cinches back up with the toys inside when she is done playing.

Our Family Photos With Missy Desiree Photography
Waaaaay back in November we had our family pictures taken by the fabulous Missy of Missy Desiree Photography. Missy is an Orlando wedding and family photographer, and also a good friend. She did great with the kids (especially since the pictures were done in the late afternoon, which is usually Rylie's "witching hour"), and we had a lot of fun.
Even though these were taken like 3 months ago and I totally forgot to post them here, you know how much I like to share, so here goes...
If you are a fan on Facebook, or if you saw the post with our Christmas card, then you have already seen a few of these. Like this one, my absolute favorite!
