A year or so ago we bought Kindle Fire tablets for Rylie and Bryce. Up until just recently, though, they haven't cared much about them. We started taking them with us when we went out to eat, and they kept the kids occupied while we waited for our food. The next thing I knew, they were asking to play some of their favorite apps when we were at home.
Rylie and Bryce have been using their tablets more and more lately, so we're always looking for new, fun apps for them to play. When I first learned about Bamba Burger, I was excited to check it out. I soon found out, though, that it was only available for the iPad. Luckily, Brian was able to borrow an iPad from work, so we downloaded the app. Since then, all my kids want to do is make burgers. All. The. Time. They love Bamba Burger!
Bamba Burger is a virtual restaurant where kids can make their own kids meals. They even come complete with a toy! First, you choose your favorite bun and slice it. There are so many different types of buns to choose from - from the usual sesame seed bun, to cakes and donuts, and even sushi! The next step is to fry and flip the burger patty. Once your burger is cooked, you then load up your burger with your choice of toppings. Of course you have the "usual" choice of toppings like ketchup, mustard, lettuce and tomato, but you can also create crazy burgers with fruits and vegetables, chocolate and other sweets, and even toilet paper and toothpaste!
Once your burger is finished, then you dispense your drink. There are so many "flavors" to choose from like rainbow, cow, spider, pumpkin and dinosaur. After your drink is full, it's time to deep fry the French fries. You can choose from 3 different types of fries that you will slice and put into the fryer. When your food is ready, you pay from your little wallet, and then it's time to eat! Remember - you have to eat your food before you get to open your toy!
Rylie and Bryce have been having so much fun playing the Bamba Burger app! It is the first thing they ask to do when they get home from school most days. And since we only have the one iPad, they know they have to share nicely so it doesn't get taken away. We don't hear too much fighting once the burger making starts!
Bryce, being the silly boy that he is, likes this icky "bug burger". He chooses the bun with worms and bugs on it, and then piles it up with burger patties, bacon, eggs and octopus. Ummm, yum?
Rylie goes for more of a traditional burger with cheese, pickles and ketchup. And yes, she usually opens her toy before she eats her food. Oh, and btw, the toys are interactive - she likes to bounce the ball when she gets that one.
I have to admit that I have also had my share of fun at Bamba Burger, but my burgers aren't really burgers. Mine are more like a sweet treat. I like to put cherries, chocolate, gumdrops, lollipops, bananas and a sunflower in between a cake bun. Now that's my kind of burger!
The great thing about this app is that with all of the different choices available, your kids can make different meals each time they play, which Rylie and Bryce do A LOT. They have even passed up their TV watching before bedtime to play Bamba Burger!
The only thing my kids don't like about Bamba Burger is that once you start, you can't back up. There have been a couple of times that they put something on their burger that they didn't necessarily want, and they can't take it back off. It's not a big deal, though, because they're happy to play again.
If you are looking for a fun app to keep your kids entertained, you have got to download Bamba Burger! It is available for iPad only, through the App Store. Oh, and it's FREE!
Bamba! has other apps for kids available - Bamba Post Office, Bamba Ice-Cream and Bamba Pizza - and we can't wait to check them out! Make sure you follow Bamba! on Facebook and Twitter to learn more about these fun apps, and new apps that they develop in the future.
What would you put on your Bamba Burger?
