2012 Hess Helicopter And Rescue #hesstruck2012 {Review}

Hess

My kids' Christmas wish lists are constantly changing. What started out as makeup for Rylie and an orange bucket for Bryce (yes, an orange bucket), has now evolved into a long list of toys, toys and more toys. The latest addition to Bryce's list was a helicopter, so it was perfect timing when the 2012 Hess Toy Truck arrived on my doorstep.

So what does a truck have to do with Bryce's wish for a helicopter? Well, this year's Hess Toy Truck is, in fact, a helicopter! The 2012 Hess Helicopter and Rescue comes with two rugged vehicles ready for action and adventure!

2012 Hess Helicopter and Rescue

The Hess Toy Trucks have been around for as long as I can remember. In fact, these collectible toys have been a holiday tradition since the 1960s. Each year, a new truck (or other automobile) is released during the holiday season, making the perfect gift for kids and adult collectors alike. I have a feeling that after this year, we will be collecting these quality, affordable toys year after year.

2012 Hess Toy Truck

This toy is so cool! Check out all of the features that come with this helicopter:
  • Motorized Main and Tail Rotors
  • 3 authentic sounds: Ignition, Takeoff, and Fly By
  • Real working lights including running lights that work in flash or steady mode, and a set of high powered pivoting searchlights
  • Push-button activated cargo bay door release
  • Retractable landing gear
The rescue vehicle is nestled in the cargo section until the door is released. With this toy, you get two vehicles in one!

The Rescue Vehicle also has some cool features:
  • Friction Motor
  • Working head, tail, and accent lights
  • Retractable emergency lights
  • Chrome detailing
When I was first asked to review the 2012 Hess Toy Truck, I had no idea just how awesome it was going to be. Once I took it out of the box and started playing with it, I realized just how much Bryce is going to LOVE this.

In the "off" mode, you can push the buttons on the side to make the helicopter's rotors spin, and it actually sounds like a real helicopter. Or, you can flip the switch to "on" and the rotors will continually move. Between the movement, lights and sounds, the helicopter is one amazing toy.

Since the photos don't really show all of the great features of the helicopter, I took a little video to show more...

If you have a little boy who you still need to buy a gift for, you have got to get to your local Hess station and get one of these! Available for only $26.99, this is the perfect toy for boys of any age! The quality and attention to detail on the vehicles are absolutely exceptional, and they seem very durable.

I am so glad I got the opportunity to share this toy with you all, because it really is that awesome. I don't know who will be more excited about it on Christmas morning - Bryce or me. I can't wait to see his face when he sees how cool his helicopter really is. This will definitely be one of his favorite gifts this year!

Make sure you visit Hess Toy Truck on the web to learn more about this year's toy, and those of years past. You can also connect with Hess Toy Truck on Facebook.

Disclosure: All opinions are my own. I was sent the 2012 Hess Helicopter and Rescue at no cost, in order to facilitate my review. No other compensation was received.

My boys would have loved this a couple of years ago, now I think they are too old. They look like quality, well built toys, the kind of stuff I prefer to buy. Boys are rough on things and if you spend a couple of extra bucks to get something that holds up than you've saved in the end!

i have a 5 year old grandson who would love this. He asked for police cars, helicopters, tanks, and trucks. I wonder if he will be a transportation engineer someday? LOL! I think these look sturdy and adorable. Love the bright colors!

thanks for sharing!
