Our Day With Baby Mia

Happy Monday everyone! I hope everyone had a great weekend! I figured there was no better way to start a Monday than with pictures of cute kids, so hopefully this post will put a smile on your face and start your week off right.

If you read this blog regularly, then you know who Melissa is by now. Not only is she one of my best friends, but she also recently became a contributor on this blog. Melissa has an adorable baby girl, Mia, and that sweet little baby makes us miss our friends even more. They only live two hours away, but with our busy schedules, we don't get to see them near as often as we would like.

We were supposed to spend the weekend with Melissa and her family the weekend before last, but then Chloe got sick and we weren't able to go on Saturday. We decided on Sunday that we all needed some cheering up, so Mama, the kids and I headed over to visit with them for the day.

A few months ago, Rylie saw this hot pink skirt in the baby section of Target and she immediately exclaimed "Mommy, we have got to get this for baby Mia!" Then she found a skirt in her size that matched. The girls wore their matching outfits that Saturday, so we started off our visit by taking some pictures. Some of them came out so stinkin cute!

Mia & Rylie Cute girls!

I particularly love this one. It looks like they're sharing secrets. "One day when you're a little older, Mia, I'll show you how fun it is to wear clothes that don't match. Oh, and I can do your makeup for you too!"

Telling secrets

The whole photo shoot was a lot of fun. The girls were so cute.

Once Bryce realized (for like the 100th time) that Melissa's tiny little dogs wouldn't hurt him, he decided to join in on the fun. I thought it was hard enough to get a picture of two kids together. It was nearly impossible to get a decent shot of the three of them! Bryce didn't understand that Mia couldn't sit up by herself, and he thought it was hilarious when she would topple over.

Apparently it was a little too sunny for this shot. But hey, we tried.

Aunt Melissa didn't get to come to Bryce's birthday party because her husband's son got married that same day. I had already booked Bryce's party before they set the date, so unfortunately, we missed the wedding too. So we celebrated Bryce's birthday again with a yummy chocolate Oreo cake that Melissa made. Bryce was very excited about his cake!

While we were eating cake, Mia was busy in her jumperoo. Look at this little cutie!

Rylie is always talking about Mia and just loves her so much. In fact, she named one of her baby dolls "Mia" and sleeps with her every night. She always talks about how she wants to feed Mia, and she finally got her chance. She sat with Mia and fed her the whole bottle, and was all smiles. She is such a big girl! Then, of course, Bryce wanted to hold her too.

My kids swam while Mia napped, and they had a great time. They just love Aunt Melissa and Uncle Rick, and we always have a good time while we visit. I miss our best friends, and I wish weekends such as this weren't so few and far between. Hopefully it won't be long until we see this adorable smile again...

Happy baby

You know me, so it won't surprise you that I had tears reading and looking at this post. I truly do wish we lived closer as well and could see each other more often! I'm so happy that Rylie(and Bryce) love Mia so much and want to dress/hold/feed her; with the age difference, you never know! The pictures turned out so cute, I can't wait for their next photo shoot together ;-)

Isn't it wonderful to have friends like these that are as close (or closer)than family?! The kids will have a lifetime friend in baby Mia too!

Looks like all the kids had a fun time, I'm still thinking about the oreo cake! My boys always have fun when their cousins come over for play time even though they are girls.
