If you have a little girl, then chances are your house is filled with dolls of all sizes. From small Barbie dolls to larger 18" American Girl dolls, little girls like Rylie love them all! The smaller dolls seem to always have houses to play in, but what about the bigger dolls? They need a place to play too!
The O'Connor Family was faced with this dilemma years ago when the girls in the house wanted a dollhouse for their American Girl dolls. They wanted something big enough for the large 18" dolls to play in, but they also wanted something that could be put away and stored easily. They knew they couldn't build an entire doll house big enough for the dolls that could be folded up when not in use, so the first modular dollhouse was created.
American Doll Room is not your ordinary dollhouse. These large, portable rooms for 18" dolls are big enough for the dolls and their accessories, and when the dolls are not playing in them, they fold up flat and can be easily stored. The rooms are sturdy, durable rooms, and have exquisite details like hardwood floors, picture windows, and real shag carpet. Flip it one way and you have the inside of the room, or flip it the other way and you have an outside patio.
American Doll Rooms are available in a variety of colors and styles. With over 20 different room and carpet combinations available, your child's dolls will come to life in their own special room! You can choose from the original rooms shown above, historical rooms, a cabin, and even a barn!
Each room is sold separately, or you can purchase them in 2 or 3 room suites. The rooms can be placed together in many different combinations to create a unique play experience every time.
We recently received an American Doll Room for review. Since Rylie's favorite colors are pink and purple, we received a pink room with purple carpet and white curtains. I immediately noticed the stunning details of the room as soon as I pulled it out of the carrying bag. From the outside, it appears as if you are peering in the window to the pink room.
Once we unfolded the room, we saw that pretty pink room with hardwood floors. While the hardwood floors were a nice touch to the room, what would a pink room be without purple carpet? Once we laid the carpet in the room and installed the curtains (super easy installation with Velcro), it was time for play with Rylie's dolls.
I absolutely love the detail that is put into these rooms, especially the windows. The picture windows make you think you are looking out into a field of flowers. The curtains come with little ties so you can have them open or closed.
Now, just in case you haven't yet realized just how big these rooms are, maybe this will give you an idea. Rylie is almost 5 years old and is about 41 inches tall. The rooms are huge! When open, they are 24"x24"x24" and then fold up to only 3/4" thick.
As you can see, Rylie closed the curtains and put her baby to sleep. We all had to be very quiet. After the baby's nap, it was time for her to eat. We switched out her bassinet for her high chair and Rylie fed her lunch. The family pet even came by for a little snack.
Rylie absolutely LOVES her American Doll Room! In fact, we had to pack it up so that she could take it to my mom's house, where she goes every day after school. Since most of her play time during the week is done over there, we packed up the doll room, her accessories, and several of her dolls so that she can play with them every day. The room was easy to fold and store in the bag, and it only weighs 7 pounds, which makes it easy to transport.
At the time of this blog post, when you order a room from American Doll Room, you will receive a duffel bag for free. This bag is also very large! We were able to fit several dolls and accessories in ours.
Not only do Rylie and I love this doll room, so do parents everywhere. American Doll Room has received many awards, and that doesn't surprise me one bit. These rooms were such a fabulous idea!
The American Doll Rooms can be purchased for $89 for a single room, $169 for the Two Room Studio, or $249 for the Three Room Studio. Before I received Rylie's doll room, I thought the price was high for what it was, but now that we have one of these great rooms, I think it is worth it. You are not going to find anything else like this. The quality is superb, and I love the fact that the rooms are collapsible for easy storage. If your little girl loves dolls like mine does, I highly recommend these rooms!
Now the only question is...which color combination would your little girl's dolls feel at home in?
