Even though you may have seen a picture or two on this blog of Bryce with a doll, that phase quickly ended, and I now have a true BOY on my hands...a boy who loves toys! Bryce loves action figures, trains, vehicles, monsters and dinosaurs, just to mention a few. He also loves interactive toys, and ones that he can really PLAY with. That is why the VTech Switch & Go Dinos are the perfect toys for him!
Switch & Go Dinos are super fun, 2-in-1 toys that easily switch from a vehicle to a dinosaur in just a few steps. These interactive and educational toys teach kids about dinosaurs by saying interesting facts about the particular dino when they are in that mode. When they are in vehicle mode, they make sounds like a jet fighter flying through the air, or a car racing down the track. The LCD screens provide customizable animations like dino eyes and expressions, or vehicle drivers. They are very cool toys!
We were first introduced to these great toys by VTech when I got the chance to do a guest review of a couple Switch & Go Dinos over at Shibley Smiles. If you missed that review, you have got to go check it out. There is a cute video of Bryce transforming one of the vehicles into a dinosaur! Those two dinos are still played with constantly, and they are among Bryce's favorite toys.
We were recently given the opportunity to review two more of the Switch & Go Dinos - Span the Spinosaurus and Brok the Brachiosaurus. Span is a ferocious Spinosaurus who transforms from a jet fighter, and Brok is a gentle giant who transforms from a massive car carrier.
Bryce was beyond excited about his new dinosaurs and couldn't wait to get to playing with them! Since Span was the smaller of the two (and the one I thought I could get out of the box quickly), we checked him out first. Span comes with 4 food discs that launch from in front of the wings when he is in jet mode, along with a crane, cage, rescue lift and a baby dino. I attempted to get a picture of the different components, but Bryce was having no part of that...he wanted to start playing with his new dino and get it figured out.
Bryce loves shooting the discs from the jet fighter! That is his favorite part of Span. It is easy for his small hands to load the discs and then press the button to launch them. He also likes carrying his smaller VTech Switch & Go Dinos around on the rescue lift. He loves the jet fighter sounds that Span makes when he is flying through the air.
While Bryce played with Span, I unloaded Brok from the box. This car carrier is huge! Brok comes with a race car and Pterodactyl that you can launch into the air by pushing on the spoiler in the back when in vehicle mode. When the race car goes over the top of the car carrier, the Pterodactyl flies away. Bryce had a lot of fun with this and thought it was "cool".
Once we tested out both Switch & Go Dinos in vehicle mode, it was time to transform them into dinos. Bryce can easily transform his smaller dinos, but he had to have a little help with these two, especially with Brok. That Brachiosaurus is HUGE! It won't be long, though, before he can transform them on his own. He loves to try and figure out toys like these.
Once they were both transformed into dinosaurs, it was time for some dino fights with Daddy. These dinos are very durable, and can stand up to even the fiercest battles! Brok's neck goes up and down with the push of a button, and Bryce had fun trying to "catch" Span as he jumped up and came in for the attack. The dino sounds make for such an exciting play experience, and Bryce had a great time repeating the phrases the dinos say.
Here is a little video we put together to show all of the fun Bryce had playing with his new dinos. Make sure you have your sound turned up so you can hear the awesome sound effects!
Just in case you haven't figured it out, we absolutely LOVE the VTech Switch & Go Dinos! I highly recommend these great toys for the boys in your life. Oh, and girls love them too! Rylie always joins in on the fun when the dino battles start! The recommended age is 3-8, and I agree with that. Bryce just turned 3, and I can still see him playing with these when he is 7 or 8 years old. They are high quality, durable toys, and they are built to last. We now have a nice collection of these great toys, and I have a feeling that Santa will be adding the rest at Christmas time.
Do you want a chance to win a lifetime supply of awesome VTech toys? VTech is currently running a Show & Tell with Switch & Go Dinos video contest on their Facebook page. All you have to do is upload a 30 second video of your child's home-made Dino creation and you could win a lifetime supply of VTech Toys, and VTech will transform your living room into the ultimate Dino den so you can watch your winning video air on a VTech commercial on Nickelodeon. You do not need to own a Switch & Go Dino to enter this contest. Your child can build or draw one, or if you do own these great dinos already, your child can customize them with accessories and props. There is no purchase necessary to enter.
Disclosure: All opinions are my own. I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for VTech. I received VTech Switch & Go Dinos product samples to facilitate my review.

These are, without a doubt, on my son's Christmas list this year. He goes for anything dinosaurs and loves cars, too. To be able to give him one toy that is both? VTech definitely got it right on! I think my daughter will enjoy them just as much, too. Can't wait to start my holiday shopping!
What a fun toy! I bet my nephew and cousins would love that!
We have two of the smaller ones, but my kids really want Brok! He does look like a lot of fun. I will be adding these to the kids Christmas lists this year.
Wow! These look like so much fun! Hayden would love them!

VTech has some great toys. I'm surprised I haven't heard about this one from my grandson yet since he usually wants every toy he sees out there and he loves his dinos
Looks like Bryce is having fun! What cool toys! I bet my Big Guy would love these, I'll have to check them out online! :)
Oh these look like another great toy from Vtech! Their toys are always the BEST! Carter used to be so afraid of dinosaurs and then about 3 months ago, he woke up in love with them! LOL....I think Carter would love these! A good Christmas present!
