New Contributor: Meet Melissa

I am so excited to introduce another new contributor to you all! Her name is Melissa, and I have known her for most of my life. She is seriously the kindest, most selfless person I know, and I feel very blessed to call her my best friend.

Melissa recently became a mom to an adorable little girl named Mia. She started her own blog, Life at Chez K, to keep her family and friends up to date with the happenings in their lives. Like me, she loves to try out the latest and greatest in baby products, so I thought she would make a great addition here on my blog.

Hello, my name is Melissa and I live in Tampa Bay, Florida (Go Bucs!...I’m a local girl, what can I say) with my wonderful husband, Rick, our adorable four-month old daughter Mia and our crazy four-legged children, Cocoa and Charley. I have lived in Pinellas County since I was six months old, so I consider myself a Floridian.

I have worked for with my husband for the last 12 years as his Administration Manager. I’m often asked how we can live and work together, my response is that it’s easy for us and I feel very lucky to be able to. I am also an LPN and I’m going to school for my RN. I guess you could say I had a little bit of a midlife crisis.

Most of my family lives in Texas, so we travel there pretty frequently to visit. I started blogging as a way to keep my family up to date on my pregnancy and now it’s all about Mia. That’s me in a nutshell; a wife, mother, employee and student. Sometimes life is a little hectic, but we try to live by the philosophy “work hard, play hard”. Of course since having a baby, our “playing” has come to include baby bottles, tummy time, lullabies and children’s books, but I wouldn’t have it any other way! Mia is the light of my life. She is the happiest, most even-keeled baby I have ever seen, and we are very fortunate.

I have known LeeAnn since sixth grade…so pretty much forever! I have watched her life change so much over the last five years, in spectacular ways. First, she married that amazing husband of hers…seriously, Brian is a great catch and they make an amazing couple. Next up was little Rylie, she is smart as can be and beautiful too! To round out the awesomeness that is their family, cutie patootie Bryce arrived on the scene. Throughout her family expansion LeeAnn has worked full-time and somehow managed to start blogging, which is pretty much a second full-time job. Hopefully I can help lighten LeeAnn’s load a little bit (if that is even possible). I look forward to contributing as much as I can and I hope that you find me to be a good addition to her blog!

I hope you all will welcome Melissa here, and that you will stop by her blog and say hi there too. If you are a regular reader here then you have already "met" her through my posts, but now you will get to know her a little better through her reviews.

I am amazed at what all LeeAnn does and often wonder how she does it. It's awesome y'all have been friend forever and so glad to see you here and helping her out. Will be looking forward to hearing more about you. Not...to put a couple pics of the family and baby Mia as well. LeeAnn does have some awesome kids. As a grandma myself, I love the kids and always get excited to see the new pics she posts of them.

Welcome. You sure do like a full plate! Good luck in school. My wife has been a RN for about 18 years, she graduated less that 2 years after high school ended. It's a job that has always been in demand and also pays quite well.

Welcome to Mommyhood Melissa! Sounds like you are one busy woman but hey, just don that cape and you will make it through it all! Looking forward to seeing your input and what you do decide to share about yourself and family. I am excited to hear more about baby items out there (we have 3 new grandchildren in 2011...one who lives with us with her mommy, and have a HUGE family with LOADS of weddings and now babies being sent from heaven into their lives). It's all so amazing what they bring to you, and what they NEED. I am stunned at the amount of really awesome new baby gear items, toys, handmade wonders and just cool stuff out there for babies and kids. I had 6 and my youngest is now a teen. We are at 6 grandkids and holding, for now.(I secretly hope for many more:) They are keeping me up on my baby "fixes"! Just wondering, if you are an LPN going to RN, maybe you might find some great health and wellness items out there to show us? THAT would be really cool! Us moms and grandmas need to stay on top of things...we have a HUGE job to do;)
