Bryce's 3rd Birthday: The Party

Bryce had an amazing third birthday party! We had it at our favorite birthday party place, Double Down Athletics, where the kids got to bounce in bounce houses, slide down huge slides, jump on trampolines, fall in the foam pit and run until their little legs couldn't run any longer! This was our third birthday party there, and Rylie has already requested that we have her next party there.

Obviously this post is going to be loaded with photos. I uploaded 102 photos to Facebook, so I tried to narrow it down the best I could. Here goes...

I picked up this gigantic inflatable Buzz Lightyear balloon, and Bryce thought it was the coolest thing ever. Of course Buzz had to come to his Toy Story party!

Here is my adorable birthday boy, ready to play!

Ready to party!

Once the gym was ready for us, the kids were off and running. First stop? The big slides. Bryce went up first with Sophia, who is his "girlfriend" at school. Her mom said that all she does is talk about Bryce. How sweet! Of course Brian had to "test" the slide out to make sure it was safe for the kids.

Next up was the trampoline track. Rylie and Bryce had fun bouncing with Daddy and Rebecca.

Then it was time to drag Aunt Becky into the shark bounce house.

Bryce talks about several kids in his class, but one name I hear over and over again is Gavin. I was so glad that Gavin was able to come to his party. We could tell how close they are. They had so much fun running around with each other!

Running with Gavin

The cool thing about this place is that the adults get to play too. Trust me, you can't resist the trampoline track. I was on it several times. Uncle Danny had fun trying to bounce his girlfriend as high as he could, and even got my mom in on the jumping fun.

The kids were non stop for an hour and a half! Just watching them run and play and bounce and slide made me tired.

Still running

Look at these two cuties! You can tell they are best buds.

Several of Rylie's friends were also at the party. Here she is jumping on the super springy trampoline with her friend Eleanor.

After an hour and a half of playing, all the kids were called over to the foam pit and they all happily jumped in. The party host counted to three and they all got to throw the foam up in the air and yell "Happy Birthday" to Bryce.

Once play time was over, we headed to the party room for pizza and cake. This awesome Toy Story birthday banner was made by my good friend Tiffany from Uniquely Me Designs. If you need a custom party banner, please check out her Etsy shop or her Facebook page. She can make a banner for just about any theme!

Rylie and Payten were the first to sit down. I asked Rylie if she wanted to sit next to Bryce or down at the other end with her friends, and she wanted to sit with her brother. I was glad.

Uncle Danny didn't need to sit down. Nor did he need a plate. He just ate the pizza right from the box.

Uncle Danny's pizza

All that playing made the kids hungry. It got pretty quiet for a bit while everyone chowed down.

Pizza time!

We ended up with 23 kids and 48 total party guests. It was so nice having so many of our friends and family members there to celebrate Bryce's birthday!

Party guests

Here is his Toy Story cake from Publix. The box rubbed some of the writing off, but overall, the cake was super cute and Bryce loved it...especially since he got more Toy Story toys with it! The cake was chocolate with fudge filling. YUM!

Toy Story Birthday Cake

Rylie can't eat store bought cakes because of her nut allergy, so I made her special Toy Story cupcakes. She chose strawberry cake with chocolate frosting, and I also made some with vanilla frosting just in case any of our guests didn't like chocolate. I know, I can't imagine THAT either!

Toy Story Cupcakes

I remembered to get a family pic! Well, at least most of the family...

Bryce was so excited when I lit the candles on his cake and he was so anxious to blow them out. He did good, though, and waited until the singing was over.

Happy Birthday to you! Blowing out candles

He sure did love his cake!

When the party was over, we sent our guests off with a goody bag filled with Toy Story party favors and a dry erase board. I think I did pretty good with the party favors this year.

Once we got home, Bryce wanted to open ALL of his presents. I knew what was going to happen, though, so I arranged them all and snapped a picture of him with his gifts for the thank you cards.

Birthday presents

Sure enough, Bryce tore through his gifts like a little Tasmanian devil! He had help from Rylie and Grayson (Uncle Danny's girlfriend's son), and within minutes, all the presents were unwrapped.

Bryce opening gifts

He got a bunch of Hot Wheels cars, some dinosaur toys, a big Toy Story play set, more Toy Story toys, games, and clothes. I was so happy that someone picked out this cool T-Rex Hot Wheels track for him. We have given it as a gift several times over the past year, and every time we buy it, he wants to play with it.

T-Rex Hot Wheels Track

Bryce and Grayson both thought the Toy Story landfill play set was pretty awesome, and Uncle Danny couldn't get it out of the packaging quick enough!

Checkin out the Toy Story playset

Bryce was in toy heaven! He loved all of his gifts, and he played with every single one of them that night. There were toys strewn all across my house! He was one happy birthday boy!

Imaginext Dinosaur

Shortly after all of the gifts were opened, Rylie and Grayson decided that they wanted to spend the night at Mama's house, and Bryce didn't object. He had a fun time playing with each of his new toys without having to share them. After a couple hours, he was pretty tuckered out and climbed up on the couch to watch a movie with Uncle Danny.

Chillin with Uncle Danny

I guess he missed his sister and Grayson, though, because after a few minutes, he got really upset and wanted to go to Mama's. Who are we to say no to the birthday boy? So off he went.

Bryce had such a great day! Thank you so much to all of our family and friends who came out to celebrate. He is such a lucky little boy!

Oh, and he received one more gift on Sunday...a BIG one from Mama and Uncle Danny. That one deserves it's own post, though. Stay tuned for some sliding and splashing fun later this week...

You couldn't have picked a more fun party venue! That was amazing, and I'm dying to see what that trampoline track feels like to jump on.
