Rylie loves clothes! In fact, when we are out shopping and she is given the opportunity to buy something, she would much rather have clothes than any toy. She is very picky about her clothes, though, so I have given up trying to purchase them on my own. Whether we are shopping in the store, or shopping online, I have to let Rylie pick out her own clothes or I run the risk of them never being worn.
She likes to mix and match her clothes. When I say "match", I use that term lightly because Rylie likes to wear clothes that don't match. During the week, I generally let her pick out her clothes for school, but my rule is that they have to match. On the weekends, though, unless we are going to a birthday party or another event, I let Rylie have complete say over her wardrobe, and she loves it. I think because I enforce the "matching" rule during the week, she purposely chooses outfits that don't match on the weekends. She definitely has a mind of her own.
Rylie only chooses clothes that are comfortable. She likes soft, comfortable clothes that don't have elastic or thick seams that she can feel through the clothes. Her favorite items are cotton skirts with shorts built in, leggings and cute t-shirts. We have had all out wars in the mornings while Rylie chooses her outfit for the day, so I try and make sure her favorite outfits are clean and ready to wear to avoid any potential conflicts.
This fall, girls will be rockin' one of their favorite brands because Barbie is launching their all-new branded apparel collection now available at Kmart. Little fashionistas like Rylie will love the cute details like ruffles, bows, character art, prints and patterns, which will encourage them to dress themselves in their own unique style. These mix and match combinations will also allow them to choose different outfits from the collection, which is great for independent thinkers like my little girl. They will be able to pair tees and tunics with skirts and leggings, and have fun doing so at prices parents will appreciate.
We recently received a few pieces from the new Barbie Apparel Collection for Rylie to try. She was so excited when I unwrapped the little pink armoire and couldn't wait to see what was inside.
We opened the box to find two Barbie branded outfits, along with a Barbie digital camera. She immediately dubbed the "Future Glamour Girl" set with the leggings as her favorite. While she does like skirts, Rylie would be happy wearing leggings and comfortable tees every day. She especially liked the sparkly ruffles at the bottom of the soft black leggings.
I honestly thought that the ruffles on the bottom of the leggings would bother her since she is so sensitive when it comes to different materials, but they didn't. She LOVES that outfit! It is comfortable and stylish and she loves the lace and sparkles. I had a hard time getting her to take it off to try on the "Sparkle Makes Me Happy" tee with the skirt.
She finally agreed to try on the other outfit with the promise that she could put the leggings back on when she was done. We both liked that the skirt had built in cotton shorts (since she has to wear shorts under her skirts and dresses at school), but the waist was way too big for her. The shirt was snug enough to hold the skirt up while she was standing still, but it will probably be a while before she is able to wear the skirt to school. She loves the t-shirt, though, and plans to wear it with her sparkly denim shorts.
Rylie is in between sizes right now in most clothes. The 4T shirts are usually too short on her, but the 5T size is too big everywhere else. These clothes were all 5T, and other than the waistband on the skirt, they fit her almost perfectly. I would recommend getting the larger size if you are unsure.
Rylie's friend Peyton came over for a playdate and the girls put on a little fashion show for us. They had a lot of fun with it. We took several takes of these silly girls walking the runway, and there were a lot of laughs. Check out Rylie and Peyton rockin' the latest Barbie fashions...
All in all, Rylie loves her new Barbie clothes! I have a feeling those outfits will get plenty of wear this fall. They are comfortable, cute, and most importantly, well made. I think they will hold up well. These clothes are very affordable at prices from $5 to $14.99, which is important to me since Rylie is already asking for more pieces to mix and match.
My little fashionista is picture perfect and ready for school! I have a feeling our mornings will be a lot easier now...well, at least the mornings when she is getting dressed in her new Barbie clothes.
If you have a little girl who likes to dress herself in the latest fashions, you will definitely want to check out this new line available at Kmart!

Very Pretty Little Ladies! :) My Daughter Loves Her Clothes & Playing Dress Up. We Don't Have Any Kmart's Around Us Anymore Though :/
I love having a son. I must admit, though, missing out on sparkly pink Barbie gear is the only thing that bums me out about it! This stuff is totally cute, I'll keep it in mind for birthday gifts for the little girls in my life (so I can get my Barbie fix!)
ohmigosh, CUTE little video. They are such fashionistas! I have three grand daughters, two of which are pretty tiny yet and I can't wait to buy this line! Sparkly is this grandmas' middle name. love, love, LOVE! Our only Kmart close is about 40 miles but well worth a drive! Thanks, Lee Ann...would never have known about this line as we don't have Kmart ads around here.
Adorable! Love her!
Rylie is so adorable! That's too funny that she doesn't like to match lol.
