Satisfy Your Sweet Tooth With See's Candies {Review & Giveaway}

See's Candies

It is no secret that we are a candy loving family. Everyone in this house has a sweet tooth! I like to keep the amount of candy we eat at a minimum, but every now and then, we all deserve a sweet treat. So when I was asked if I wanted to try some candy from See's Candies, my mouth started watering before I could even say yes!

See's Candies is a premiere chocolate candy store that has been specializing in high quality chocolates and friendly, old-fashioned service since 1921. See's has maintained an excellent reputation by producing the best possible boxed chocolates from only the finest grade raw ingredients. We offer over 100 varieties of candies and chocolates in all. Whether you're looking for custom chocolate assortments, nuts & chews, or decadent chocolate truffles, at See's there's something delicious for every candy lover!

See's Candies are well known and loved throughout the West, but for those of us in the East, we can find them at partner stores like Dillard's, and even online. I browsed through the website trying to figure out what I wanted to try, and it was so hard to make a decision. Everything looked so good!

As I was browsing the See's Candies website, I noticed the link to the allergen information. Since Rylie has a tree nut allergy, this section of the site was particularly important to me. It is not easy to find candy that doesn't contain tree nuts, or the possibility of cross contamination, so I was excited to see the candies listed that were safe for her to eat. I ultimately chose the Sour Stars and Assorted Lollypops for the kids, since both were listed as nut-free.

Sour Stars and Lollypops

I can no longer find the Sour Stars on the See's website to link to in this review, so I am guessing that they were available only for a limited time around the 4th of July, which makes sense. These little red, white and blue stars were a huge hit with the kids!

Sour Stars

These gummy stars packed just enough sour punch to make you scrunch up your face, but they weren't as sour as these two want you to think they are...

Rylie's sour face Bryce's sour face

Goofballs!

Rylie and Bryce also loved the Lollypops. These aren't your ordinary suckers. Instead, they are gourmet candy-on-a-stick, and they last a long time. With flavors like vanilla, chocolate, coffee and butterscotch, they are sure to please everyone in the family. I think the chocolate Lollypop is the favorite in our house!

Bryce's Chocolate Lollypop Rylie's Chocolate Lollypop

Speaking of Lollypops, July 20th is National Lollypop Day. You can celebrate this yummy holiday with See's and get a free Lollypop in stores. If you don't live near a See's location, you can celebrate with special multi-pack Lollypop pricing online from July 16-23. See’s Candies will also attempt to break a Guinness World Record by creating the world’s largest Lollypop. Weighing in at 7,000 pounds, it will be on display to the public in San Francisco on July 20 in honor of National Lollypop Day.

Just in case a 7,000 pound Lollypop doesn't get you in the mood to celebrate, how about the chance to win an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of See’s Lollypop Factory in Burlingame, CA? The Grand Prize includes round-trip airfare for two and three nights at a San Francisco hotel. Ten other lucky entrants will also win $50 See’s Candies gift cards. You can enter the sweepstakes from July 5, 2012 through July 22, 2012 by visiting www.sees.com/lollypopsweepstakes or completing an entry form at any of See’s retail shop locations.

OK, enough about Lollypops, let's move on to my favorite part of See's Candies...the CHOCOLATE! Once I picked out some candy that Rylie could eat, I moved on to my selections. I'm telling you, it was so hard to make the choice! I finally settled on Truffles, Dark Chocolates and Awesome Peanut Brittle Bars.

Truffles, Dark Chocolates, Peanut Brittle Bar

The Truffles and Dark Chocolates were amazing! The chocolate was so creamy, and the different fillings were all very tasty. I'm not one for surprises, so I wish that the packages had some type of "map" to tell you what was inside each candy, but I have to say that I was never disappointed when I bit into one. My favorite was the caramel, and I also enjoyed the nougat and berry fillings.

Dark Chocolates Truffles

I took the Amazing Peanut Brittle Bars to work to share with some of my co-workers. These bars were individually wrapped, so they were easy to share. Everyone seemed to enjoy them. One girl said that she would have liked it better without the chocolate, but I have decided that she is just weird. I mean, chocolate makes everything better, right?

I was not only impressed with the quality of the variety of candies we received, but also the packaging that our order arrived in. I was worried that my chocolates would melt once they were delivered to my front porch in the hot Florida sun, but they weren't. The box was lined with an insulated foil package, and inside were several ice packs. You would never have known that my chocolates actually sat out on my front porch for several hours until I came home from work.

See's Candies Packaging

The next time you want a gift for someone sweet in your life, I highly recommend sending a variety of See's Candies. The prices are affordable, and the candies are delicious!
