Eliminate Spills With The Magic Tap

Over the last year or so, Rylie has become very independent. She can dress herself, brush her teeth, buckle herself into her car seat, get her own snacks... the list goes on and on. She thinks she can do everything by herself, and I will usually let her at least try, but there are just some tasks that "little miss independent" has not yet mastered.

One of those tasks is pouring her own drinks. Sure, Rylie can pour from cup to cup, or pour "tea" when setting up a tea party in the bath tub, but those little hands just can't quite get a full carton of milk or a full bottle of juice at the right angle so that it actually goes inside the glass.

We recently had the chance to try out the Magic Tap, and Rylie can now add one more item to the list of of things she can do all by herself! This automatic drink dispenser makes it easy for anyone to pour a drink...even a 4 year old!

It really is THAT easy! The hardest part was figuring out which beverage container to use to test the Magic Tap. Rylie and Bryce both love the V-8 Fusion drinks, so at first I wanted to use it on one of those. The only problem is that those types of juice drinks need to be shaken before they are poured, and I certainly didn't want the kids attempting to shake those bottles. I decided that the Magic Tap needed to be used on something that didn't require shaking, so I put it on a half gallon of milk.

The Magic Tap's universal cap fits most containers, and it fit perfectly over the opening of the milk jug. The silicone wings made a great seal that seemed air tight.

I tried it out first, and I was surprised that the Magic Tap held up to the claim of "no more drips". It really did not drip at all! As soon as I stopped applying pressure on the trigger, the flow seemed to go in reverse and back down into the jug. Call me impressed! While it does leave a small bit of liquid in the nozzle, it went back far enough that it didn't drip out.

The next step was allowing Rylie to try it. It was super easy for her to use!

When she first started using the Magic Tap, I had her use her finger on the trigger, rather than holding the glass up to it, just for a little more control. And after all, we know how much kids like pushing buttons. She can do it either way, though, and when it is in the refrigerator, she just holds her glass up to it.

The milk jug is now stored on a shelf in the refrigerator that Rylie and Bryce can reach, and they both enjoy pouring their own milk. Yes, even a 2 year old can use the Magic Tap! They enjoy it so much that they actually drink more milk now...an added benefit!

The only issue I have with the Magic Tap is with the sensitivity of the trigger. You barely have to touch it to make it work. While some might find that a positive feature, when you have two little kids, it isn't always so. I have even accidentally touched it and ended up with milk on the floor. We are all very careful now when we are in the refrigerator.

The Magic Tap has definitely found a place in our refrigerator! It really does work well to eliminate spills and drips, and makes it easy for the kids to get their own drinks.
