The Best Slumber Party Ever!

I know it has been a little quiet around here lately. In fact, I think I may have even heard crickets over the weekend. I have a good reason, though. I was at a slumber party! Yep, you heard that right...a slumber party. And it was the best slumber party ever!

My family and I were invited to a Magical Getaway at the Hilton Garden Inn Orlando at SeaWorld this past weekend. This getaway, which included a weekend of FUN, kicked off with a family slumber party at the hotel on Friday night.

One of the best things about this slumber party was that I got to hang out with two of my closest friends, Xenia from Thanks, Mail Carrier, and Colleen from Shibley Smiles. I have mentioned several times here that Colleen and I have been friends since middle school, so it was nice to hang out with her again finally. Xenia and I hadn't met yet, even though we have pretty much talked online every day for the past two years, so finally meeting her in person was especially exciting.

Yes, we are in pajamas. You can't go to a slumber party and not have pajamas on, right? All of the ladies and kids in attendance were given new jammies to wear, so there were all kinds of polka dots in the room that night.

We first sat down to a dinner of hamburgers, hot dogs and chicken fingers, and we were greeted by Dawn Ray, the Director of Public Relations for Hilton Garden Inn. She welcomed us to the hotel, and I could tell how excited even she was about this fun event. She told us all about the Breakfast with Heart promotion that is running from now until the end of September.

Did you know that more than 1 in 5 children in the U.S. are hungry? This wonderful "Breakfast with Heart" promotion will enable hotel guests to join Hilton Garden Inn and Feeding America, as they work to help provide 1 million meals to families in need. When guests book the "Breakfast With Heart" room rate, they will receive a complimentary breakfast. In support of "Breakfast with Heart", Hilton Garden Inn will make a donation to Feeding America to help provide meals to families in need.

After dinner, it was movie time! The kids all gathered around the TV on bean bags to watch Finding Nemo. Rylie had met the kids from Thanks, Mail Carrier the previous evening, and quickly made a new best friend..."Big Sister E". They hit it off and were inseparable all weekend!

After the movie started, the dinner items were cleared away and were replaced with a sundae bar and other snacks. Yum! There were two kinds of ice cream and various toppings, soft pretzels, chips and popcorn.

I think Rylie could smell the chocolate from the front of the room, because before they could even finish setting up, she was back there and ready to dig in!

Rylie was first in line!

The movie was paused while everyone got their treats. Rylie and her new buddy were all smiles as they ate their sundaes.

Bryce had fun goofing off with Thanks, Mail Carrier's "Little Sister B" while they scarfed down their sundaes too. Their little chocolate faces were so cute when they were finished!

The kids from Shibley Smiles also joined us at the table for sundaes and snacks.

Of course the adults had to join in too! Who can resist a chocolate sundae covered in all kinds of deliciousness? Not me! I even caught Xenia trying to sneak back to the table with hers...

The kids went back to watch the movie for a while, but I think all that chocolate made it impossible to sit still. I had brought some coloring pages and colored pencils with us in case of emergency, so Rylie passed those out to her friends and they got down to coloring.

Everyone had such a great time! And that was only the beginning of our weekend! Of course I have several pictures of our trips to Aquatica and SeaWorld, and I have to tell you about the nice room we stayed in and the awesome hotel amenities, but I will have to break those out into more posts. We had too much fun to write about in just one post!

Stay tuned for my next post to hear about this great hotel that is close to the Orlando area attractions, and the cool perks you get when you stay at the Hilton Garden Inn. For now, though, it's time to get a little rest...

Disclosure: All opinions are my own. Our hotel stay, attraction tickets and trip expenses were provided by Hilton Garden Inn. However, I was not required to write this or any other posts about our Magical Getaway.

I'm jealous that I didn't take more pictures, but it's partially fun to see yours... and partially sad. Because now I want to go back and hang out with you guys some more! And not just for the sundae bar, of course. :)
