We took a little getaway for Father's Day weekend and headed to the West Coast of Florida for some fun! Our first stop was Busch Gardens on Friday where we met up with our good friends and their kids. Luckily, the rain was minimal and we had a great day. We left the park and headed out to the beach, where we stayed in an awesome 2 bedroom suite at the Residence Inn on Treasure Island. There's nothing like being able to see the ocean right from your balcony!
I grew up over there and the second I smelled the salty ocean air, I felt like I was home. Boy do I miss it!
We all had a great weekend playing on the beach, and thanks to my mom, the adults even got to spend a fun night out having drinks and dinner at the Hurricane Seafood Restaurant where I used to work many years ago. We checked out of the hotel on Sunday and then spent the day with our best friends where the kids had some pool time and I had some snuggle time with their sweet baby girl.
Now we're home and back to real life. I feel like I need a vacation to recover from our vacation! We took an extra day off of work to get unpacked and caught up around the house, while the kids get back to their routine at school. I was unplugged all weekend and it was wonderful, but now I have to catch up on the gazillion emails in my inbox, and everything else blog related.
Of course I have a ton of pictures to share, and I have to tell you all about our stay at the Residence Inn, so stay tuned...

Welcome back! Can't wait to see the pictures.
So sorry your Father's Day was bittersweet with good times with your hubby and kids, and even though you have good memories of your dad, it's really hard to meet that day when your dad is gone. Mine has been gone 7 years now. It's just one of the very hard parts of life...
Happy Monday and week to you too. I like to get unplugged every once in a while myself just to refresh and spend some time relaxing.
Your kids are lucky to be able to visit where you grew up and where you used to work. I am taking my kids back to my college this fall and can't wait to show them! Glad you had a fun trip!
