We are not typically fans of professional sports in our house. I've been to all sorts of games - hockey, football, baseball - and I can take them or leave them, really. There is, however, one team that I have always wanted to see, and that team is the Harlem Globetrotters. While the Globetrotters are professional athletes, the family friendly entertainment they provide is great for those of us who are not die hard sports fans.
This summer, for the first time, the Harlem Globetrotters are conducting Summer Skills Clinics to bring boys and girls ages 6-14 behind the curtain to see their electrifying skills and tricks. We all want our kids to stay active during the summer, and this is definitely a fun way to do it!
For three hours, your child will get to exercise with actual Globetrotters. Not only will they have a great time learning basketball fundamentals with these charismatic athletes, your children will learn to play sports with a positive attitude. No basketball experience is required.
The clinics are being held in Phoenix, Houston, San Francisco, New Jersey, Denver, Dallas, Los Angeles, Seattle, St Louis, Miami and Las Vegas. Check out the full schedule for a complete listing of locations and dates.
The cost of the clinic is $59 per child. This includes the three-hour clinic, along with:
- A free ticket voucher (valued up to $40) to see the Globetrotters during their 2013 World Tour
- Autographs and photos with the stars!
- 3-day trial pass to 24 Hour Fitness
Spaces in the clinics are limited to allow for maximum interaction with the stars, so head on over and register your child, and make this a summer to remember!
Disclosure: All opinions are my own. I am receiving passes for my family to attend a Harlem Globetrotters game in 2013 in exchange for sharing this information.
