I am a seasonal allergy sufferer. Well, scratch that, I am a daily allergy sufferer. I was tested several years ago and found out I am allergic to dust, mold, dogs and some type of grass, but I can't remember which type. The first three on that list don't bother me much, even though I live with a dog.
For the past two years, at the beginning of April, I have suffered from some type of seasonal allergy. I am assuming it is that type of grass I am allergic to, but it could very well be something else since it didn't start happening until last year. I get sinus pain, headaches, and a horrible sore throat. My throat was so bad last year that I even ended up at an ENT because it just would not get better and I didn't know what was wrong. When my throat started hurting this year, I started taking allergy medication, and the pain was gone within days.
While my battle with seasonal allergies doesn't generally cause me a lot of grief, it sure makes my days a lot less enjoyable than they could be. Some people, however, suffer much worse from their seasonal allergies and they spend their days feeling absolutely miserable. Seasonal allergies can literally ruin your day!
Merck, the makers of non-drowsy CLARITIN® products, has teamed up with Dancing with the Stars host Brooke Burke-Charvet this spring to create a new short film titled “The Difference is Clear.”
The film is a crazy, over-the-top look at two versions of one busy woman’s day who is juggling work, life and family while also dealing with allergies. In the first version of her day, Brooke’s character doesn’t take her allergy medication, and her non-stop allergy symptoms cause an impossibly upside-down day, where nothing goes right and everything goes wrong. In the second version, she treats her allergies and has an impossibly outrageous day, so much so, that there is no limit to what she can achieve.
While that is a funny video, it is so true. I have several friends who suffer from severe allergies, and I know how badly their allergies can affect their daily lives!

What about you? Do you suffer from seasonal allergies, and how have those allergies affected your life?

I LOVE Claritin! You can't take them when your pregnant and NOTHING else works the same. My allergies are just too bad to live without Claritin.
Nicole I
i love claritin ive used it since i can remember for my allergies
I have to try Claritin,Allegra is not working anymore.
I don't have allergies but my hubby and son have terrible allergies. They are actually doing immunotherapy... which are a series of shots over five year course to essentially get rid of the allergies. The hubs has been doing it for awhile and doesn't even have to tale daily allergy pills anymore. My son is 3 and doesn't understand why he has to get two shots everyweek, but I know it will prevent him from a lifetime of misery just to reduce his symptoms. I am a fan of an allergy free (reduced, at least) household! And so thankful I donthave to deal with them!
I almost feel guilty that I don't suffer from allergies! I can't even imagine how frustrating that must be. :(
ha ha i love that video, i have horrible allergies and so does my daughter.. ugh! sucks
My allergies are so horrible lately. Thanks for the reminder to pick up some Claritin.
My youngest daughter seems to have inherited spring allergies from my side of the family. She is so miserable every morning. I need to try Claritin for her.
I haven't used Claritin personally, but I have a family member with allergies. I'll have to pick some up and see if it works better than the stuff he has been using.
Our family has seasonal allergies and we all use Claritin
Allergies are no fun!! All 3 of my kids suffer from seasonal allergies and they all need to use different brands of allergy medicine.
I've never had allergies before but over the past few years I've been developing some symptoms around spring season. Claritin sounds like something I should look into just in case it gets out of hand.
i always have a supply of claritin on hand!

Oh my gosh, it is really getting bad this year for my kids. I never had allergies until about 11 years ago, developed tree allergies and I feel SO bad for those little ones (like most of my kids) who have allergies and are in such misery. Thank goodness for OTC Claritin. I remember when some of these otc meds were only by prescription. So easy to get at our local Walgreens and discount stores now!
