When holidays like Mother's Day, Valentine's Day and Sweetest Day roll around, there is one company that immediately comes to mind. That company is Hallmark. After all, these holidays are a chance for you to show your love and appreciation of a loved one, and Hallmark gives you beautiful cards and wonderful gifts in order to do just that.
This Mother's Day is no different. Hallmark has a great selection of cards and gifts to help you show your mother how much you appreciate her!
I recently received some new Hallmark products to review just in time for Mother's Day - "Mom & Me" Recordable Book, Recordable Artwork, and an assortment of Mother's Day cards.
Hallmark is taking Mother’s Day cards to a new level with a variety of innovations, including light and animation, as well as pop-ups with mechanics so complex that a card designer works with a Hallmark paper engineer to design and construct it. I have always been amazed at the creativity of the cards produced by Hallmark, but I had no idea that they actually have "paper engineers" employed to construct the cards. It doesn't surprise me, though. With all of the innovative cards that Hallmark puts out on shelves for every holiday imaginable, you can tell that a lot of work goes into making these cards.
The Mother's Day cards I received for review were definitely what I expected from Hallmark. The "I Heart Mom" card has fun music that plays with the push of a button, the sentimental card about a mom's compassion was beautifully written, and the adorable "L-O-V-E" card has a fun message about Grandma from the kids. Hallmark cards never disappoint, and you can always find one with the right sentiment you wish to convey.
Hallmark Conversation Books are a great way to capture the big imaginations that kids have. Kids say the funniest things, and these books are a fun way to remember their thoughts and their little voices forever. The questions in these "recordable interviews" spark imaginative answers that only kids can give.
The "Mommy & Me" recordable book is a great activity for moms and kids to participate in together. You can ask your children questions, and then record their answers. Each page has a question along with some fun illustrations. As I was flipping through the book, this particular question made me laugh...
"What do you think Mom does when you're not around?"
I already know the answer to that. Rylie had a friend sleep over one night, and as they were in her room giggling instead of going to sleep, her friend mentioned something about her mom and dad going to sleep. Rylie said "No, they don't go to sleep. One of them does the dishes and the other works on the computer." Ha! I sure wish I could run on no sleep. I'd probably feel a lot better most of the time.
I haven't had a chance to sit down with the kids and get their answers to these questions, but I think this will be a fun activity for us to do together on Mother's Day. I can't wait to hear what Rylie and Bryce will say!
The Recordable Books are available at Hallmark Gold Crown stores for $24.95.
I saved the best for last because I think that the Recordable Artwork kits from Hallmark just might be the neatest gifts out this Mother's Day! Your kids can paint and color on canvas, in books, and even on frames, and then record a special message to the recipient of their masterpiece.
Rylie was so excited to paint a beautiful picture on the Canvas Art Kit to give to my mom for Mother's Day! She is really into coloring, drawing and crafts these days, so this was a great activity for her. The kit comes with canvas in a frame on which you can record a message, a set of paints and a brush. We decided to record the message first since you have to turn the frame over to do so, and this way we wouldn't mess up her picture once she was done.
Since the picture on the box had a rainbow on it, Rylie thought it would be a good idea to paint a rainbow for Mama.
Rylie was so proud of her rainbow when she was finished, and I was too! I think she did a great job, and I know my mom is going to love hanging this up in her house! The brush that comes in the kit is a pretty thick brush, and since Rylie used most of the space on the canvas while painting her rainbow, she signed her name at the bottom with a colored pencil.
I don't know about you, but I absolutely love the little handmade gifts that kids make, and I think these Recordable Artwork kits make the perfect gifts from kids for parents and grandparents! Not only will you have a work of art to hang in your home, you will also have a recording with a sweet little voice that you can save forever! They are available at Hallmark Gold Crown stores and anywhere Hallmark products are sold for $14.95.
As always, Hallmark has some wonderful cards and gift ideas for all moms. But hurry! Mother's day is coming up fast!
