Improve Your Water Quality With A ZeroWater Pitcher {Review & Giveaway}

ZeroWater

I don't trust the tap, do you? Because of all the horror stories I've heard about the impurities in our drinking water, I've chosen to drink bottled water for as long as I can remember. Since I do use bottled water, I'm big on helping the environment and make sure to recycle all of our water bottles. I also drink the bottled water because of the taste. Do you enjoy the taste of your tap water? I certainly don't.

We also have filtered water from our refrigerator, but that too tastes "different" to me. I can taste the chlorine in it and it's not appealing to me. It always leaves a bad aftertaste too which I do not care for. Being as World Water Day just passed us on March 22nd I am even more conscientious that pure drinking water is important.

I recently had the opportunity to test out the ZeroWater Filtering Pitcher and am excited to share the results with you!
ZeroWater 10 Cup Pitcher

Most conventional carbon filters only have one or two stages of filtration. ZeroWater's patented Ion Exchange System, with five combined technologies removes virtually all dissolved solids. ZeroWater® filters produce the only filtered water that meets the FDA definition for TDS in purified bottled water.

Ion exchange filter

TDS = Total Dissolved Solids

TDS generally leaves an undesirable taste in tap water which could be salty, bitter or metallic.

TDS includes inorganic substances such as salt, metals and other elements that may be dissolved in tap water.

TDS come from both natural deposits and man-made sources such as road salts, old piping, leaves, etc.

The FDA requires Purified Bottled Water to achieve a Total Dissolved Solids reading between 000-010. Typical TDS in U.S. tap water is 240pp/m.

I was excited that the ZeroWater Filtering 10 Cup Pitcher included a TDS meter so that I could test the different water options at our home. I started out by testing the tap water, knowing the results would likely not be favorable. As suspected the TDS meter reflected a result of 196. I then tested our refrigerator filtered water and was appalled at the results. The "filtered" water was actually worse than our tap water! It had a reading of 209!

TDS meter results tap fridge filter results

I then decided to test my favorite store brand water and it too had a high reading. It was a bit lower than the filtered and tap water, reflecting a score of 170. I stood there in amazement. How can this be acceptable in America? We need water to survive, yet we are allowing all these toxins to enter our body by a source that should be clean and pure.

I then installed ZeroWater's Ion Exchange Filter System into the 10 cup pitcher and filled it will tap water. After a few minutes the water had passed through the filter and was ready to test. Using the TDS meter the same way I had for the previous options, I dipped the bottom of the meter into a glass of water from the ZeroWater Pitcher and let it sit there for approximately 30 seconds, the results were 000! The ZeroWater Pitcher had removed more particles and toxins from our water than any other source we currently use.

ZeroWater Pitcher results
Not only am I happy with the results of the ZeroWater Filter, but I also appreciate the design of the 10 cup Pitcher. It's sleek and slim so that it does not take up a lot of space in our fridge. It also offers two options for pouring by having the traditional spout option or by the pull-and-pour option at the bottom of the pitcher so that you can easily get a glass of water without lifting or removing the pitcher from your fridge.

ZeroWater Pitchers slim design TDS Meter

It even offers an option to store your TDS meter at the top of the water pitcher. And have I mentioned the quality of the taste? It's perfect! There's no aftertaste or funky chlorine taste. It just tastes like.....water! The way it should taste.

I am so happy to have come across ZeroWater and am even more excited to be offering 2 of these in a giveaway! I think once you try out ZeroWater's Filtering Pitcher, you too will be changed! Another bonus I really appreciate is that the filter is recyclable! ZeroWater has really thought of everything. Be sure to follow ZeroWater via facebook as that will be one of the entry options in our giveaway! For my zip code (32504) it says 56, but other zip codes around me say 276, so something is off since we all use the same water. I can tell you, however that Pensacola, FL (where I live) has been shown to have the WORST tap water in the nation!
