Power Up Your Mornings With BelVita {Review}

belVita

If you follow this blog on Facebook, then you have seen my posts about the delicious belVita Breakfast Biscuits that I tried out this past week. Even though my "Five Days of belVita Breakfast" trial has come to an end, I will still be enjoying these wholesome biscuits for breakfast. They are so good!

Not only do belVita Breakfast Biscuits taste good, they help to keep me going all morning. These lightly sweet, crunchy biscuits provide nutritious sustained energy that will last all morning. The combination of the ingredients and the baking process allows these biscuits to release energy regularly and continuously in your body.

Each package of four biscuits has 18-20 grams of whole grains and is a good source of fiber and four B vitamins. They contain no high fructose corn syrup, no partially hydrogenated oils, an no artificial flavors or sweeteners. The addition of a low-fat dairy product and fruit to a package of belVita Breakfast Biscuits provides a healthy, balanced breakfast.

I recently received all three flavors of belVita Breakfast Biscuits to try for five days - Blueberry, Golden Oat and Apple Cinnamon. I had previously been drinking some nutrition shakes for breakfast, which honestly did not taste that great, so I was anxious to give these biscuits a try!

One of the great things about the belVita biscuits is that they are portable. I work full-time outside the home, and by the time I get ready, and then get my kids up, fed, dressed and out the door, I don't have time to eat breakfast at home. Between the three flavors and the various pairings, I was able to have a different breakfast each day, whether I was home or at the office. The easiest combination for me was to add a fat-free yogurt and fruit to my biscuits, which is what I did most days.

Even after just a day or two, I was surprised at how my new belVita breakfast kept my hunger at bay, and kept me awake and alert until lunch time. I usually get to work around 8, and then eat my breakfast as soon as I get there. On most days, I found myself getting tired and needing more coffee by 10. My mid-morning coffee was not needed last week when I was eating the breakfast biscuits. Trust me, I was definitely hungry by lunch time, but I didn't feel like I needed that 10:00 pick me up.

I found that I definitely needed some extra protein to really keep my appetite satisfied until lunch time, so my favorite combination was the belVita Golden Oat biscuits with peanut butter and some banana slices. That breakfast really filled me up, and I found that I was looking at the clock around noon and not even realizing it was already lunch time!

My only complaint about these biscuits is that they break very easily. My kids managed to crush up a few packages of them just trying to get them out of the box. However, I got creative and found an easy way to eat them broken up by mixing them with my yogurt. Yum!

And yes, I said that my kids were trying to get the packages out of the box. It turns out that both Rylie and Bryce enjoy the Breakfast Biscuits as much as I do!

I think what I love most about these whole grain, on-the-go biscuits is that they are nut free. Rylie has a tree nut allergy, and so many breakfast bars come with that warning on it. But not these! Now when she wants the same breakfast as mommy, she can have it.

I have been hearing so much about these and finally bought a box .. except ... I can't figure out where I put it. LOL No doubt I put it up to hide from the kids but I managed to hide them from myself too.
