Being a one income household has made us re-evaluate our own situation and consider dropping our dental plan and possibly the family health insurance policy. It's frustrating to think of how much money is taken from my husband's paycheck each month for our insurance and we honestly do not use it that often. Since I'm home with the kids, they hardly ever get sick and need to be taken to the doctor's office, but I don't want to be without insurance all together.
Is it really possible to have cheap health insurance without forfeiting a quality plan?
Not only would I love to find inexpensive health insurance, but if I could do it in a matter of a few minutes and hassle-free, that would be a life saver! I don't really have a lot of time on my hands to do comparison shopping and find the best deal for my family's budget. Really, does anyone have that kind of time?
I feel every family deserves to have family health insurance, if they want it. The kicker is finding affordable care. That being said, I'm determined to not let my family become part of that ever growing statistic!

Unfortunately our family has been a statistic for years. My husband owns his company, and up until this year I was at home with the kids. We haven't had insurance, and for the most part we haven't missed it. We pay for doctor's visits out of pocket as needed. It's when the big things happen that living with no insurance is terrifying. The four days I spent in the hospital last year and the $2,000 we spent in one month all hurt tremendously. I'm hoping that next school year we will have insurance as I will then be a full-time teacher. Unfortunately a lot of districts are dropping insurance as part of the benefits package. We'll see if we will remain a statistic or if we'll finally get to have a small bit of security.
Insurance is such a tough issue. I wish everyone had insurance! I work as a dentist in a clinic that is supported by the government but I know not everyone has that option.
We have insurance and it is fine for regular illnesses, but my oldest son has autism and they pay for practically nothing! It is horrible and should be a required coverage.
I've had to the very things you mention. I don't have dental insurance but I was able to find a low cost health insurance that works within our budget.
