I absolutely love that Disney is bringing some of our favorite movies back to the big screen...and in 3D! A few months ago we watched The Lion King in 3D, and this past Saturday, we saw Beauty and the Beast in 3D. It was amazing!
On January 13th, Walt Disney Animation Studios’ magical classic “Beauty and the Beast” returns to the big screen in Disney Digital 3D™.
Rylie and I, along with one of her friends from her school and her mom, were able to see a special screening of Beauty and the Beast 3D a week before it will be released in theaters. Every time I see one of these new 3D movies, I am just amazed at how far 3D movies have come. I remember when they first started making 3D movies. We had to wear those paper glasses that had one red lens and one blue lens, and did nothing but give me a headache. I don't get headaches at 3D movies any longer, that's for sure!
Rylie really was excited to see the movie. That is just the "Hey Rylie!" look I happened to get.
We all got our 3D glasses on, got some snacks, and settled in to watch the movie. Before the feature film started, though, we had some laughs while we watched the short film Tangled Ever After. It was so cute, and super funny!
By popular demand, Greno and Howard are bringing back some of Disney’s most beloved characters when Tangled Ever After picks up where Tangled left off. The Kingdom is in a festive mood as everyone gathers for the royal wedding of Rapunzel and Flynn. However, when Pascal and Maximus, as flower chameleon and ring bearer, respectively, lose the gold bands, a frenzied search and recovery mission gets underway. As the desperate duo tries to find the rings before anyone discovers that they’re missing, they leave behind a trail of comical chaos that includes flying lanterns, a flock of doves, a wine barrel barricade and a very sticky finale. Will Maximus and Pascal save the day and make it to the church in time? And will they ever get Flynn’s nose right?
Here's a sneak peak at this hilarious film short...
The girls really enjoyed watching one of their favorite Disney movies on the big screen. The 3D effects were so great that they even jumped out of their seats a couple of times.
I tried to get a picture of Rylie and her friend Peyton in front of the big movie poster, but this is the best I could do...
The Beauty and the Beast 3D screening was at the AMC theater in Downtown Disney, so after the movie ended, we headed over to T-REX Cafe for some lunch. The kids love all of the realistic looking dinosaurs throughout the restaurant!
We sat in this half-circle booth with a huge beetle on the wall behind us and a brontosaurus above our heads.
The food was great, but the real fun comes with the meteor showers. The restaurant gets dark so you can see the meteors shoot across the sky, and all of the dinosaurs come to life!
After lunch we headed over the the LEGO store where the girls made miniature LEGO figurines and then went outside to race cars and build castles. I did manage to snap a couple of cute pictures when they took my seat as I got up to put some LEGOs away...
A great movie, a yummy lunch, and fun with friends at Downtown Disney. What a great day!
