So December is here. It has been here for 9 days now, and I'm just as busy as ever. Along with all of the Christmas hustle and bustle (decorating, shopping, wrapping, baking...) we also have several friends who have kids with December birthdays. We have a party to go to tonight, and then one again tomorrow morning. We have two next weekend also.
On top of the kids' birthday parties, my best friend's birthday was yesterday, so I will be headed to St. Pete this weekend to celebrate her birthday with her. I was just there last weekend too, helping my other best friend register for baby stuff. I took the kids with me last weekend and dropped them off at my mom's house, and I will be doing the same this weekend. It is a win/win for everyone...I get to do friend stuff without kids, Brian is able to knock some items off
When we get home Sunday, we are decorating our tree! Brian put the tree up last weekend, and it is still naked. We can't have a naked Christmas tree, now can we? I have somehow managed to get most of my Christmas shopping done (thank you very much Amazon.com), and just have a few online purchases left to make for my cousins. I still need to send out our Christmas cards that we purchased from our holiday photo shoot, and I'm really hoping to get that done Sunday also.
Oh, and did I mention that I am also in the midst of planning Rylie's birthday party? Yeah, I had a kid right after Christmas, so planning her parties every year adds to all of the fun! I have been trying for two weeks to get a good picture of her for the invitations so I can get those out before the holiday break from school, but we haven't had much luck. If all else fails, I will use the one at the top of this blog. It is super cute, right?
I really do love the month of December, and all of the holiday festivities, but I find myself too busy to just sit back and enjoy it all. Please tell me that I'm not the only one with a million and one things going on right now. If you are one of the lucky ones that has your shopping done in October, your tree up the day after Thanksgiving, and are sitting around eating bon bons while the rest of us run around like chickens with our heads cut off, I don't really want to hear from you. ;-)
Have a great weekend, my friends!

I have to tell you that I don't even have the love side of this relationship this month to fall back on. I simply hate December. I know... I'm a Scrooge. I just get so stressed out in December. You are definitely not alone in feeling like there is so much going on. To top it all off, since the semester ends before we head out for Winter Break, I have the stress of last minute grading, final exams, and parents who up until now didn't care about their child's grade. The semester ends in a week, so at least that much will be over and I can get last minute shopping done. I know it's easier said that done, but try to enjoy your time and the festivities. It's all meant to bring family closer together.
Your December sounds like my December...lol. As much as I love Christmas, there are a ton of birthdays for us too. And it makes shopping that much harder. Listen, your tree is at least up....we just got ours last night. But you better get it decorated or Santa might not think you are home :)
