We Interrupt Our Regularly Scheduled Blogging...

...to bring you a bunch of awesome giveaways! I hope you are enjoying all of the Countdown to Black Friday fun here. I sure am having fun posting it! It is taking up most of my blogging time these days, which wasn't much to begin with, so I haven't been able to really write much of anything lately. Heck, I just realized that I forgot to post about all of our Halloween festivities!

We had a laid back weekend, and just hung around the house most of the time. We needed a little downtime after last weekend. When we picked the kids up from school on Friday, Rylie requested that we eat at Applebee's, so we obliged, even though the last two dinner outings were a little crazy. The kids were so exceptionally well behaved that it was almost scary.

I should have been scared, though, because as it turned out, it was the calm before the storm. I swear, I felt like a zookeeper on Saturday! I don't know if it was the gloomy weather or what, but it seemed like all I did was say "No!" and "Stop it!" all day long. And the whining! It never let up. The craziness reached it's peak when Rylie knocked over our table during lunch at Panera Bread. It was just one of those days, I guess. At the end of the day, though, after the baths had been taken, hair had been dried and teeth had been brushed, it all faded away when I came downstairs and saw this...

Those two just melt my heart!

Overall, though, it was a good weekend. When I look back and try to ignore all of the whining and time outs, we did have some fun. The kids have been playing so well together (for the most part), and are always coming up with new "adventures". I love to watch their little imaginitive minds at work.

Bryce is in the throws of the terrible twos these days. His attitude can go from sweet and cuddly to mean and nasty in a millisecond! His tantrums are easier to manage than Rylie's were, though. We are usually able to get him laughing about something, and he soon forgets why he is laying on the floor screaming. Once Rylie gets in one of those moods, it is hard to get her to snap out of it.

Bryce's vocabulary seems to double by the day! We are able to have a conversation with him, and we can understand just about everything he says. He is so funny, and is always making us laugh. His favorite thing to do these days is play "Pat A Cake". He has more fun when I do it with him, but several times over the weekend I heard him playing it by himself. It went a little something like this...

Pat a cake pat a cake bakers man, roll it, pat it ma ma ba ba B, and THROW it ba ma ma ma Bryce and MEEEEEE!

Rylie has really been a good girl lately. Except for crazy days here and there like the one we had Saturday. Everyone who warned me that three was worse than two is just nuts! Three has been a breeze! She is becoming quite "motherly" these days. It is so funny to hear her give Bryce directions, and threaten punishment for his naughty behavior. He seems to respond to it too. She constantly gets "Great day!" reports from school, and comments about what a great helper she is. Her favorite thing to do these days is play dress up...with her dress up clothes and her regular clothes...ALL THE TIME. The girl causes me so much laundry!

OK, so there you have it...a real blog post. (Even if it was just a little rambling about the kids.) I hope you enjoyed it. No go enter some giveaways!

Have a great week everyone!

That photo is so sweet! I'm glad you had a great weekend! If I had to pick the hardest age so far...I would say for me it was 4. I wish I could skip over that year...that was the year of testing, pushing limits, negotiating, back talking, resisting bedtime, etc. I hope you find that is NOT the case in your house :)

Those two would melt my heart too!! When the tantrums are happening and the wildness takes over, it's sometimes hard to see past it... but then you realize how much it is ALL worth it!! :) Glad to hear 3 is better for you than 2.... we are definitely having our 2 moments in this house!!
