I have got to get some of those Sock Monkey Slippers for Rylie and Bryce! They are too cute!

Along with the great gifts available at Uncommon Goods, you will also find some great stocking stuffers. We always have so much fun pulling the fun little presents out of our stockings on Christmas morning!

Speaking of gifts, I thought these Recycled Rubber Flip Flops would make a great gift for my husband. We wear flip flops pretty much year round, so Brian tends to wear his flip flops out pretty quickly. When I was selecting an item for review, I knew these would be a hit for the car lover that my husband is.

Recycled Rubber Flip Flops

Burn rubber while minding your carbon footprint with these grippy sandals made from recycled race car tires and bike tubes salvaged in California. Thick soles stamped from recycled race car tires are topped with soft "crumb rubber" footbeds ground from leftover tire. The finishing touch: Recycled bike inner tubes are transformed into straps and lined with hemp fabric. Kick up your soles to show the original tire tread!

When we received the Recycled Rubber Flip Flops, my husband thought they were pretty cool. They are solid black with tan stitching, and you can tell that they really are made from old tires.

They even have tread on the bottom, so you know you are good for at least 50,000 miles!

The straps are made from recycled bike inner tubes, and they are lined with hemp fabric so that the rubber isn't rubbing against your skin when you walk. This was an excellent idea!

Brian really likes the flip flops and wears them often. I think they are a great idea, but the sole isn't as thick as the product description makes them sound. I tried them on one day, and the soles are a little too thin for me. I like a thicker sole on my shoes, and with these flip flops on, I felt like I was barefoot. Brian doesn't seem to mind the thickness of the soles, though, and he likes the fun idea of wearing recycled tires. The pictures above were taken after a month of wear, so you can see how durable they are.

The flip flops are made for men and women and retail for $46. I feel that this price is a little high when you compare it to the price of "regular" flip flops in a department store, but when you purchase these, you know you are reducing your carbon footprint since they are made from recycled material, and they truly are an uncommon item.

I mentioned that Uncommon Goods also has some cool stocking stuffer ideas lined up for this holiday season. They have a page dedicated to unique stocking stuffers for men and women where you will find things like Cast Iron Tool Bottle Openers, Shower Squids, and this cool "Corkcicle" that will maintain chilled white wine or bring up red wines to their perfect temperature.
