Thanksgiving Traditions & Dishes with Libby's Fruits & Vegetables {Giveaway}

Libby's Get Back to the Table

The holiday season is upon us, and Thanksgiving is right around the corner! I happen to love "turkey day"! It is a day to gather with friends and family to celebrate the things in our lives we have to be thankful for, and, more importantly, it is a day to eat! OK, so maybe eating isn't more important than giving thanks, but it sure is a great way to spend the day.

We have a very small family, and over the years it has unfortunately gotten smaller. I remember Thanksgiving dinners throughout my childhood when my family from my mom's side would all gather together at either my grandmother's house or my great aunt's house and celebrate together. The women would all cook up a delicious meal while the kids played, and then we would all sit down and eat together. This year, we will be celebrating Thanksgiving at my best friend's house, along with my mom and my brother.

Would you believe I have never cooked a turkey? Nope. Not once. I have hosted Thanksgiving dinner several times over the years, but each time someone else brought the turkey. I prefer to spend my time in the kitchen preparing the side dishes and desserts instead. I usually make corn casserole, green bean casserole, homemade macaroni and cheese, mashed potatoes, stuffing, and various fruit pies, just to name a few. The main ingredient in some of those dishes are Libby's fruits and vegetables.

Libby's Fruits Libby's Vegetables

Libby's has been bringing canned fruits and vegetables to our tables since the 1880s. Today, Libby's Fruit and Vegetables is the nation's third largest brand. With over 60 different products and sizes, it offers one of the industry’s most complete lines of canned vegetables, including organic options. Household staples such as corn, peas and green beans are among their most popular products.

Libby's is all about gathering and celebrating with family and loved ones around the table. In fact, their website is called "Get Back to the Table". This online space is a place where busy moms (and dads!) can get quick, convenient recipes and sound advice about how to feed a family on a budget. You can visit their CANvenient Recipes section to find delicious recipes that the whole family will enjoy. You can even upload your own favorite recipes to share. I may have to add a few of their side dish recipes to my Thanksgiving menu!

What do you love about being around the table this holiday season? What family traditions do you look forward to? What are your favorite recipes? Libby's wants to know!
