Hasbro Operation Cars 2 Edition Review | Countdown To Black Friday Giveaway

When I think of toys, one of the first brands that comes to mind is Hasbro. Hasbro is a world leader in toys and games with brands such as Play-Doh, My Little Pony, Playskool, Baby Alive, and so many more! I have been a fan of Hasbro Games since I was a little girl. I used to have a collection of games that I enjoyed playing as a child, and I am slowly building a nice collection for my kids with the hopes that they share my love for playing games.

Did you have an Operation game as a child? I did. I remember competing with my brother to see who had the steadiest hand, because we sure didn't want to hear those silly sounds. That classic Operation game still exists in the line up of Hasbro games, along with a Spanish version and a "Rescue Kit" game. With the recent release of Disney/Pixar's Cars 2 movie, Hasbro has introduced a new Operation game - the Cars 2 Edition.

Since we are big Cars fans in this house, I was excited to receive this game for review. My kids are actually huge Mater fans, and they thought it was so cool that he is the main character of this game.

Help your Mater “patient” get “all better!” Pick a card and then “operate” on that part of him to help him out. Remove the bad parts and you’ve done it! But if you touch the sides, his headlight will buzz and glow. Keep working on him until his as “healthy” as can be, then put the funatomy parts in the storage drawer to keep everything together. “Fix up” his “busted gear” and you win!

Mater's "bad parts" are things like "Bad Gas", "Da Bomb", "Busted Grill" and "Leaky Oil". How fun!

The object of the game is the same as the classic Operation game - to get the "bad parts" out without touching the sides. If you touch the sides in this game, you will hear Mater's laugh.

Cars 2 Operation is recommended for ages 6 and up. Rylie and Bryce are really too young to master this game, but they had a great time playing it, even though they did touch the tweezers to the sides often. Hey, that was probably why it was so much fun!

I was actually surprised at how well Rylie was able to use the tweezers to get the pieces out. She loved getting out the bad parts and then putting them in the drawer on the side of the game board. This is a really nice touch, because it keeps all of the pieces with the game.

Operation Cars 2 Edition is a great game for the whole family, and would make a great Christmas gift for any Cars fan! It retails for around $19.99 at many major retail stores, and online at websites such as Amazon.com.
