Last week I posted that we were changing our Thanksgiving plans because Rylie had a fever Wednesday night, so we spent Thanksgiving at home. We had planned to take corn casserole and homemade macaroni and cheese to my best friend's house for Thanksgiving, so we made that, and Brian went to Boston Market and got turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes and pumpkin pie. It was all last minute, but it ended up being one of the best Thanksgiving dinners I have ever had! The only thing missing was my mom. She was unable to come over Thursday, and we definitely missed her. She did end up coming up Friday night and spent the weekend, though.
Who went Black Friday shopping? We lost our minds and ventured out to the mall on Friday, but it was later in the afternoon. We took the kids to get haircuts and then ran in the mall to find a specific sweater that I needed for Bryce for our holiday pictures. I ordered Rylie's dress online, and also had the sweater in my cart, but by the time I hit checkout, it was gone!
It turned out that the Gymboree in that mall didn’t even carry the line I was looking for, so the kids played on the little playground for a few minutes, and then we got Dippin Dots and left. The mall really wasn’t that crowded for being Black Friday, but I’m sure the hard core shoppers were already back home by then.
Mama took the kids to the movies on Saturday, so Brian and I ventured out to one of the bigger malls to find that sweater, which we did. We were also looking for clothes for us to wear for the pictures, and he found something, but I did not. I swear I am the least stylish person EVER. I hate shopping for myself, and I can’t believe we are getting pictures taken this Friday and I still have nothing to wear. My friend Tiffany is going to go shopping with me Wednesday evening, so hopefully with her fashion advice I can find something and won’t look like an idiot in our pictures.
The rest of the weekend was busy as usual. I have such a love/hate relationship with this time of the year. I love all of the holiday cheer and festivities, but I hate how busy I always am. There is too much to do, but no time to do it. I am going to be out of town for most of the next two weekends, which certainly doesn’t help.
As far as blogging goes, I am kind of “blogged out” at the moment. While the Countdown to Black Friday giveaway event was super fun, and I am having a blast picking the winners of all of the great giveaways, it about killed me! I spent way too many late nights on the computer, and I am just exhausted from it all. I feel like I have nothing to write about, so I just don’t. For once, there is nothing exciting going on, and really, that’s not a bad thing.
I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving, and a nice holiday weekend! If anyone shopped over the weekend, I would love to hear about the awesome deals you scored!
Oh! And if anyone has some tips on what I should wear for our holiday pictures, I would love to hear those too! Rylie is wearing the dress in the picture above, Bryce is wearing the sweater with black pants, and Brian is wearing a black sweater with gray pants. I was thinking of a white sweater, black skirt and boots for me??? Hey, we can pretend it is winter here, right?

Hey Girl! I think that sounds like a great outfit, maybe throw a blue scarf around your neck (if you can find one in the right shade of blue, or yellow would look cute too...or red). Your Thanksgiving sounds ideal and like it was minimal work too! I can't wait to see ya on Friday!
I am glad you are finally realizing that it is ok to take a break from blogging!! You put some much time in to this little corner of the blogging world and we all love you for it. But you deserve to have 'nothing to write about'...lol! I am with Carol on the scarf thing for the pics. Hopefully you will find something fun to wear. BTW, I did venture out to Target at midnight on Black Friday. Christopher wanted the IPod Touch. It is normally $200 but I got it for $140....SCORE!! I am so jealous that you are Carol are going to the Disney XMas party this weekend. Have fun...oh, and you owe me an email :)
I bought mainly pajamas for Mason on Black Friday LOL The best score I got was a $85 pair of turquoise earrings for my mom for $17. We usually buy some $200 bedding set for $18 but we now own too many bedding sets, so that deal was skipped this year.
I have zero fashion tips, but I do have to say that I find you tropical weather people posing for pictures wearing sweaters on the beach ridiculous. Save the sweater wearing for those of us who know what sweater weather is :oP :oP :oP
