Bryce went pee pee in the potty this weekend!!!
Up until just the last week or so, Bryce has really shown no interest in potty training. He is one of those kids that would walk around with poop in his diaper until someone happened to get down wind and notice it. We have been putting him on the toilet on the little Elmo training seat every night before his bath for several weeks now. He would pretty much just sit there until we took him off and put him in the bathtub.
Last week, however, he started asking to go on the potty at bath time. He would sit there and you could tell he was really trying to do something, but nothing ever happened. Then he would get some toilet paper and "wipe" (because he sees Rylie and me do it) and then hop off and flush the toilet.
My mom came up for the weekend and yesterday while she and Bryce were playing he told her he had to go on the potty and then ran in the bathroom and took his diaper off. My mom couldn't find the Elmo seat since we keep it upstairs, so she sat him up on the toilet and held him so that his little butt didn't fall in. She didn't think he would really do anything, so she wasn't prepared when he started peeing. Not only did it go in the potty, it also went up and over the potty...right on her little dog!
I heard the commotion and came downstairs to a naked little boy running around saying "I pee pee in the potty!" He finished that up with "...and on Buddy!" You know, everything has to be an adventure around here, so it doesn't surprise me one bit that the dog got peed on.
We are just so excited over this milestone! We figured Bryce would be in Kindergarten before he was potty trained, but it looks like that might not be the case now. We are going to get some Pull-Ups for him to wear on the weekends, and see how this goes. Oh, and I guess we better work on his aim.
How about a big high five for my little man?

High 5! I never realised what a proud moment it would be when they pee in the potty, I went totally OTT when my boys did it!!
Way to go Bryce! Potty training was a nightmare with my son, but a breeze with Zoe. Good luck mama!
Woohoo! I'm so proud of him!
Awesome!!! I bet you are soo excited to be done with the diaper phase of life. In similar news, Chloe went to a birthday party on Sat and saw the bday boy peeing on a bush....she tried too...didn't work out so well for her. LOL.
(((Jumping Up and Down)))
Way to go lil' buddy :)
My husband and I laughed and laughed about the poor dog when I read your update at Facebook. Too funny!
Yay Bryce!!!!
Whoa, way to go Bryce! I have shown no interest in potty training whatsoever...
Yes!! Congrats and high five for Bryce! Hopefully he continues this pattern. Anthony was doing great for awhile and then just stopped. I guess I need to get on it more. Seems like I am a bit lazier with the second child...lol!
Way to go, Bryce!
