We knew that we were going to have a pretty full day at the pumpkin patch since we were staying for the festival, so I headed out to Murphy USA on Saturday night to get some snacks. I got Dr. Pepper for Brian, Vitamin Water for me, and V8 Fusion drinks for the kids. I also purchased some yummy treats like Nabisco Nutter Butter cookies, M&M's and more!
Murphy USA stores and kiosks are located outside of many Walmart locations. This is a great place to stop for gas and quick snacks. When you first see it, you wouldn't think that you would find much there, but they have almost every snack and drink you could want. We arrived at the pumpkin patch an hour or so before the festival was supposed to start to get some pictures. My friends Andrea, Tiffany and Dana were already there with their families, and my friend Kristen and Rylie's buddy Cole were planning to come later. The kids immediately started running around and having fun!
We tried at first to get some good pictures of our kids in the pumpkin patch. We really wanted a good one of Rylie and Bryce together, but this is the closest we came...
Smiles were more abundant when Rylie's friends were around. I did manage to get some cute pictures of Payten, Angelica and Rylie together, but not one where they were all three looking at the camera and smiling. I guess that is how it goes with three year olds, right?
This is my favorite picture of Rylie! I know I am a little biased, but man is she pretty!
Bryce wouldn't pose for any pictures, but he sure did have a great time walking on the pumpkins.
Luckily my kids are small and don't weigh much, because they were all over the pumpkin patch!
Once we finished trying to get pictures, we went over to register for the festival and get our tickets for the various events. Rylie and Angelica waited patiently on a nearby bench where Rylie whispered something to Angelica that apparently was quite hilarious.
Rylie and Angelica go to school together and are the best of friends. They love hanging out together and get upset when they have to part ways to go home. I love these girls!
Once we got our tickets, we headed over to get in line for the pony rides. Last year we waited like 45 minutes to ride, so we wanted to get over there before the line got too long. After waiting maybe 15 minutes, it was our turn. Just like last year, Bryce didn't want anything to do with the horses. Rylie sure did have fun, though.
When the girls got off the horses, Bryce wanted to ride the train, so away they went! I was a little worried that Bryce would try to climb out once they got going, but he sat still and loved it!
We headed inside to relax and sit down for a bit. The girls got their faces painted and then decorated cookies. Since Rylie can't have any unwrapped baked goods that I can't see the ingredients of, she decorated one of the Nutter Butters that we brought with us. I was so glad we had those!
Bryce enjoyed the cookie decorating too! Or maybe he just enjoyed the icing.
Just as we were finishing our hot dogs and lemonade, Rylie's buddy Cole showed up. The kids played a game of "Pumpkin Walk" before we headed back outside for more fun.
The kids bounced off some of that new sugar-induced energy in the bounce houses.
Our last stop was the game section. The kids played "pick a pumpkin" for some prizes. They had to find the pumpkins with the circles underneath, but they let them keep trying until they got one. Bryce got one with the circle on his first grab!
The kids played a few more games and ran a little more of that sugar off before we headed out.
It was such a fun day with good friends! This church puts on such a great festival every year. It is set up and run well, and everyone is so friendly. That is why we have made this an annual tradition, and will keep going back each year. I love fall festivities!

That looks like such a fun day! Was the pumpkin patch you went to open just for one weekend or are they open this weekend too? If so, do you mind sharing where you went? We're looking for some place to take our little guy this weekend for some pics in his Halloween costume.
