My mom had to go to Alabama to pick up my sister who had been staying with my aunt for a couple of months, and she asked if Rylie could go with her. Of course Rylie was thrilled to go and they headed out Friday morning. That meant that Bryce got his mom and dad all to himself this weekend.
We picked Bryce up from school Friday and headed to Walmart to purchase the supplies I needed for my Boo Bag project. We had a fun time shopping, and then we went to Chick Fil A for dinner. The kids love to eat there! They devour the chicken nuggets and usually get to play on the playground. We had to skip play time that night because apparently a kid had puked out there and they had it closed down. Luckily, Bryce took it pretty well and we headed home.
I worked late into the night on blog stuff, so it was very nice of Bryce to let us sleep in until after 10 Saturday morning. After we got up and had
Brian asked what I wanted to have done with Bryce's hair, so I told him to just have them trim up around his ears and the back of his neck, and mentioned how cute it would look if we could get it to spike up on top. The haircut went well, and for the first time, not one tear was shed! The end result wasn't exactly what I had in mind, but I thought it was pretty cute when Bryce came home with a little mohawk-like spike.
Hee hee. Yeah, he didn't know what to think about it either.
I spent a little time catching up online while the boys played outside. Bryce had a great time playing on the swing set. At one point he picked up the little phone and "called Rylie". Apparently he missed his sister. Awwww.
Saturday was our 12th "dating anniversary", so after Bryce went to bed we got some takeout and enjoyed a quiet evening in front of the TV. We woke up Sunday morning around 10:30 and I couldn't believe we got to sleep that late two days in a row! Rylie is definitely the early riser in the house, so I guess the extra sleep we got was one nice thing about her being away for the weekend.
We spent most of the day Sunday goofing off around the house and trying to get some chores done. I have to say, I don't know how you SAHMs do it. Brian and I basically had to switch off tackling our to-do lists, because the little stinker didn't want us doing anything that didn't involve 100% of our attention on him. We had a fun day, though, that even included a trip to get some ice cream, and we got to test out the camera a little more. Here are some pics of Bryce's "new do" the way he will normally be wearing it. Hopefully you can get past those beautiful blue eyes to even notice his hair...
Mama, Aunt Laurie and Rylie arrived safe and sound late Sunday night. This is what I found when I opened the door to my mom's van...
They had a great time in Alabama, but I'm glad to have my little girl home. I do miss her when she is gone. But I sure did enjoy that extra sleep!
This week will be busy as usual. I am gearing up for the holiday event I am hosting with Colleen, and I have a few other great giveaways to get posted before that starts on November 1st. Here's a hint for you of one really awesome giveaway coming up... Does anyone like that car seat Rylie rode to Alabama in?
I hope you all have a fabulous week!
