For 50 years now, people have relied on Scotch Magic Tape for countless uses at home, work and school. It started out as the first virtually invisible tape that could be written on, and has evolved into a versatile product with so many uses. Scotch Magic Tape is a staple in my home and office, and I do not use any other brand. In fact, when I need to add tape to my shopping list, I don't just write "tape", I write "Scotch tape".
The back-to-school season is time to stock up on Scotch Magic Tape. Whether you use it to hang up your child's "artwork" around the house, fix ripped homework papers, or put your child's name on their folders and other supplies, you will want to make sure you have some Scotch Tape on hand when your child goes back to school.
I recently received three great Scotch Tape products to review - Magic Greener Tape, Pop-Up Deskgrip Dispenser and Magic One-Handed Dispenser.
Scotch® Magic™ Greener Tape is a more environmentally-friendly version of the original, matte-finish invisible tape, with the same great performance. Made from over 75% recycled or plant-based materials.
The Magic Greener Tape proved to be the same great tape that I expect from Scotch. I honestly didn't notice any difference between this and the regular Scotch Magic Tape. It is still virtually invisible, easy to write on, and sticks well to almost any surface.
Scotch® Pop-Up Deskgrip dispenser delivers convenience at your fingertips. Unique soft rubber suction disk grips to most horizontal, smooth surfaces and moves with ease. Precut lengths of tape .75 in x 2 in, in a Pop-up Tape dispenser. 75 tape strips/pad.
This is my favorite Scotch Tape product, and, in my opinion, the best way to dispense tape! The dispenser has a rubber suction cup base that sticks well to a desk or a table. When you pull up on the dispenser, it does NOT come off. When you want to remove it from your desk, you simply slide it to the edge, or lift the rubber tab.
The other reason I love this is that the tape is already pre-cut into a size that is perfect for almost anything.
The Scotch® Magic™ Tape One-Handed Dispenser lets you apply variable-length tape quickly, precisely, and with one hand.
The idea of this dispenser is great! Unfortunately, I didn't find it as easy to use as I thought it would be. The first drawback was that I wasted a little bit of tape while threading the dispenser. I couldn't get it lined up perfectly without pulling some out and cutting it off. Another issue I had was that if it didn't cut the tape all the way through, when I lifted up on the dispenser the tape came with it, and then the paper I was taping ended up ripping.
Once I used this a few times, I ended up getting the hang of it and it worked fine, but it does take some practice. My husband was able to use it easily and effortlessly right from the start, and he really likes this method of tape dispensing.
Scotch Tape is used regularly in my house for gift wrapping. We go to a couple of birthday parties a month, so gift wrapping happens often. With the Christmas season right around the corner, I will have plenty of Scotch tape on hand for helping Santa wrap all of those gifts. I actually enjoy wrapping gifts and think that the presentation of a gift is important.
I decided to use the Scotch tape products I received in a little wrapping experiment. I grabbed some Christmas wrapping paper left over from last year, and my three different Scotch Tape products, and set out to see which product would make my wrapping easier.
Gift wrapping usually requires one hand to be holding the paper at all times. While the Scotch Magic Greener Tape is perfect for every day needs, I do not prefer this dispenser when wrapping gifts. You need two hands to pull the tape off and cut it off, and then you don't have a free hand to hold the wrapping paper in place. For me, the one-handed dispensers work better. That said, using the regular style roll of tape is by far the most economical when wrapping since you can cut the tape in the exact size you need, and you are also not paying a premium for a different dispenser.
I tried the Scotch Magic One-Handed Dispenser first. It was very easy to apply the tape and the dispenser rolled it out effortlessly, but as I mentioned above, when I lifted the dispenser up, it hadn't cut the tape all the way, so it pulled the paper up with it. Once I tried it another time or two, it worked perfectly. However, I don't want to take the risk of potentially ripping my paper while I am wrapping.
I tried the Scotch Pop-Up Refillable Deskgrip Dispenser next. This, my friends, is what I will be using to wrap all of my gifts this Christmas! It is so easy to use and made my gift wrapping so much easier. I could hold the paper with one hand while I grabbed a pre-cut piece of tape. Easy peasy!
The Scotch brand can be trusted for all of your home and office needs! Their versatile products can be used for gift wrapping, shipping, moving and storing, scrapbooking, crafting, card making and more! To learn more about the great products Scotch has to offer, visit www.scotchbrand.com.

You are so right on this! Scotch Tape really is superior. My mother-in-law bargains on everything, usually never buying name brand (not always a bad thing). She never Scotch brand tape. It was the first time I realized how much more I like it compared to other brands. Other tapes just don't compare.
My daughter is crafty and is always taking my tape to make some creation out of our recyclables. I use tape for scrapbooking.
I use Scotch tape every day in my classroom----to repair torn papers, stick a note to a child's paper, etc. It's a must-have for me!

I LOVE wrapping gifts so I use a lot of tape. I make up reasons to buy gifts just so I can wrap them. Lol. I also use it to help hubby do his paperwork with the stuff that has to be mailed in so we tape the smaller things to bigger sheets.
