Saturday Playdate - Me As A Mommy

Saturday Playdate

Due to technical difficulties, Saturday Playdate is being posted on Sunday. Playdates have to be flexible, right?

Welcome to another fun Saturday Playdate! Today we are playing with Beth from Me as a Mommy. Beth's blog is all about her two adorable little ones and family life, with some reviews and giveaways mixed in. Oh! And tons of pictures!

When you're done here, please stop by Me as a Mommy and give Beth some comment love. Let her know you stopped by from the Playdate.

Me as a Mommy

My son, M really hasn't been allowed to watch much TV. We don't have cable and so Netflix or movies are really the only TV he watches, and for a long time I just avoided it entirely. Then his little sister was born and I found the joy of 20 minutes of quiet in the form of Yo Gabba Gabba. From there, it's been a slippery TV slope. A lot of days, I get us out of the house and doing something, but every now and then there are days where I just want to be a bum. I want to stay in my PJs and sit on the couch. And those days, M watches a lot of Netflix.

Lately, we've been on a big Finding Nemo kick. I've seen Finding Nemo no less than 25 times in the last month. I wish I was exaggerating. On Thursday, we watched it twice in one day because I was having a lazy day, and that's all the child wanted to do. "Fish Fish Fish Fish Fish" So I'm not sure why I'm so surprised as to the recent on-goings in our house.

A week ago, I took the kids to Walmart to do grocery shopping and pick up a few other things. Usually, Walmart trips are full of tantrums from my rambunctious toddler because there are two claw machines next to the entrance and this mean Mommy hardly ever pumps quarters into the machines so that M can "play games mama." This time, just before I crossed the Walmart threshold I threw out a hopeful plea (a bribe) that if he was good the whole time I'd buy him a present. Darned if the kid wasn't a perfect angel the entire time. So, before we left I asked what he'd like. Completely unprompted and totally random, M told me he'd like 2 fish for his room. And so? Meet Nemo.... and Spongebob.

Me as a Mommy

Nemo's name is always the same. Spongebob sometimes gets forgotten and M tells me he doesn't know the other fish's name. He also is sometimes called Elmo.... but usually Spongebob. Nemo and Spongebob are my new best friends. Bedtime, tantrums, trips in the car.... all have become pleasant experiences as long as I tell my darling 2 year old little boy "The fishies say they want you to _______________"

Kids are so easy.

Thanks for stopping by for our Playdate! I hope you had fun! If you would like to come over for a Playdate, let me know in a comment or an email.

I *love* all the Pixar movies - Finding Nemo is a current fave here, too -but I also love all 3 Toy Story movies, and Monsters, Inc. There's a Monsters, Inc. prequel coming out this year and I think it might be my first movie theater movie!

I call all goldfish we see Dorothy, after Elmo's pet. :) M is so lucky to have fishies of his own!
