Party Planning - Last Minute Style

My dad always called my mom "Last Minute Lois" because she procrastinated and did everything at the last minute. These days, I'm sure he would be calling me "Last Minute LeeAnn". Bryce's party is in just over 24 hours, and I still don't have everything I need!

I did well and actually had the invitations made early, and had plenty of time to send them out. We are doing a Cars theme, and I found some adorable invitations at Image Invites. Here is the proof, minus certain details. Although if you buy nice presents, I guess I can tell you where it is!

Cute, right?

Well that was the only thing I did early. Up until about midnight last night, I had nothing else done. No decorations. No plates and napkins. No cake mix and frosting to make cupcakes. (I can't buy cakes because of Rylie's nut allergy. Man, do I miss that convenience!) No goody bags. No party favors. No food. You get it, right? I waited until the last minute to do everything.

I went to Party City during my lunch hour yesterday only to find that someone came in and bought up almost all of the Cars stuff. Luckily I started talking to another customer in the store (yes, I strike up conversations with random people all the time) and she suggested I go to Wal Mart because they had the same stuff and it was much cheaper. I absolutely HATE Wal Mart with a passion, but since that was the only place open late last night, my mom and I ventured out.

I ended up getting almost everything we needed! Wal Mart did have the same supplies Party City had, only way cheaper. I still need to head over to the other Party City near my house for a couple of decent party favors, and maybe a table centerpiece or something, but as of midnight last night, I had just about everything I need. I will be making cupcakes this morning, and heading over to Party City in the afternoon. I also need to straighten up my house and get some laundry done.

I really need to get everything done by 3 today, because that is when one of my best friends will be getting here, and we both need a pedicure BAD. Then we'll be picking Rylie up from school and heading out with Mama to go see Disney on Ice.

The party is Saturday morning, so I'm sure I will be super stressed trying to get everything ready, like I always am. We are not having the party at home, at least, so it isn't like I have to go nuts cleaning the house today too. I know once the party starts we will all have a great time, and Bryce will have a great birthday party! I just really need to learn my lesson and stop waiting until the last minute to get things done!

Enjoy the party! Cute invites! I'm planning one for next month and already stressing out since it is during my rush time at work.

The invites are super cute! I've still got about two months to plan for Moo's party. Think we're going with a princess theme.

You and Mommy are pretty similar - she was up until 3AM the night before my Mickey party! I'm sure everything will turn out great - can't wait to see pictures!

Gah. I hate Walmart worse than anything in the world too..but their party stuff is cheap and so are sprinkles...anytime we have an ice cream party, I hit up Wally World. I'm glad you got it all done in time!
