This past weekend I needed to go out to get supplies for Bryce's birthday party, and Rylie said she wanted to go with me. Our first stop was supposed to be Target to look for goody bag items, and then we were going to head to the party store to get decorations. Well, I wanted to get her a cute tutu-style skirt to wear to Bryce's party so I asked her if she wanted to go to the mall to look for one and she excitedly said yes.
We got to the mall and went into Gymboree. We looked around for a tutu skirt, and they didn't have any in Rylie's size. She started looking around the store and grabbed a skirt and said "I want this!" It was a cute denim skirt with an owl on it from their new line. We do pumpkin patch pictures every year and I thought it would be perfect for this year's pictures, so I told her she could get it. We also had to pick out a shirt and tights. Then I saw another shirt I wanted for her so I grabbed that too. Unfortunately, the matching skirt was not available in her size, so I'll have to get that online. While we were there, I decided to go ahead and get Bryce's pumpkin patch outfit too. Needless to say, we walked out of that store with more than just a tutu skirt, which we never did find!
Rylie wanted to put her new clothes on right then and there, but I explained to her that the long sleeved shirt would be too warm and she made me promise to let her put them on when we got home. She had to carry them and wouldn't put them back in the bag. Luckily I thought to bring the stroller in, so she sat in the stroller and held her clothes.
I am on a mission to find some natural-colored, casual shoes that I can wear with my khaki capri pants, so we went into a couple of shoe stores. We ended up in Payless, where I still didn't find anything, and I made the mistake of going near the wall with the kids' shoes. As soon as I saw the sparkly silver sandals, I knew we would be going home with them. Within a second of seeing those, I heard "Mommy, can I PLEEEEEASE have those pretty sandals?" How can I say no to that? Since the shoes were buy one get one 50% off, I also got her a pair of brown boots to go with her pumpkin patch outfit.
Needless to say, we never made it to Target or the Party Store, which is why I'm running around like crazy during my lunch hours this week! But Rylie sure was happy about our shopping trip. I stayed true to my word and let her try on her new clothes when we got home. Of course she didn't want the boots with her outfit, she had to have her new sandals...
She is quite the fashionista, isn't she?
I can only imagine the fear my husband is feeling right now. Now there are two of us who love to shop, and her tastes seem to be just as expensive as mine! I'm already picturing the trouble we are going to get into with daddy over the years. I'm so glad I have a shopping buddy!
Oh! And I did find that tutu-style skirt yesterday, along with a few other "necessities". Gymboree is a dangerous place for me these days! When I got home, Rylie immediately recognized the bag and said "Did you buy me MORE stuff?" with this huge smile on her face. Yeah, we had another fashion show last night too.

She is too cute!!
Oh, you are in trouble with that budding super model on your hands! She has good taste - I love that owl outfit :)
Ooh I know the feeling. I just bought Angelica's pumpkin patch AND thanksgiving dresses from Gymboree this week. She's going to be totally stylin', but their prices have just gotten crazy over the past year. Hey, at least her pumpkin dress was marked down to $20 from $40!
Honey is SOOO my shopping buddy too I love taking her with me, but I admit it can become quite expensive LOL!
Hello my friend!! I have been so busy these last few days with Christopher starting Kindergarten yesterday. It went awesome, thank god! But I just came by to catch up. I am so glad that you and Rylie are shopping buddies. It is going to get even more fun as she gets older. But it will also start to cost you alot more money!! LOL! I will email you later...I want to hear what you ended up with for Bryce's party favors.
Yes, she is quite the fashionista. I'm glad that Moo is becoming more of a shopping buddy for me. Now, the only problem is she likes to think that every store we visit she has to get something. LOL

This is such a great story. She looks so cute in her outfit. I can totally relate as I had a little girl who went shopping with me years ago. What a surprise when she grew up to dislike shopping. She does most of hers online today. (That's no fun, in my book.)
She is so cute...looking like a barbie doll

Ah, the joys of raising a girl! Just imagine the teen age years (on the shopping front). Good times ahead! I brought Cam in to the Buckle with me not too long ago and it was the first time she was ever in a dressing room with me. She was so helpful hanging up clothes and getting me diffrent sizes and every time I put on something she liked she said "You have to buy it Momma...It's ON BABY!" LOL. Love that kid. I spent WAaaayyyy more money than I meant too, but it was so much fun!
We always have family meal time, it's so important!
