Motivation. To me, motivation is the key to any weight loss program. Everyone's motivation is different. For some, it is losing weight for a special occasion. I know I was highly motivated to lose weight before my wedding. For others, their motivation is so they can feel and look better.
Whatever your intrinsic motivation may be to drive you to lose that weight, I also feel that motivation from others can really help too. I have to admit, I love all of the compliments I have been getting lately. When I meet up with a friend that I haven't seen in a while and they say "Wow, you look great!", it just feels good. It also motivates me to lose even more weight.
Another great motivator for me is following all of my Nutrisystem Nation blogging buddies. Take, for example, my friend Xenia over at Thanks, Mail Carrier. She has lost over 20 pounds and is such an inspiration to me!
Nutrisystem has some great motivational tools to help you on your journey. They have counselors that you can call at any time to get tips, or even just a helping hand. There is a great online community that you can join to chat with others who are also on the Nutrisystem program. Then there are the NutriBears which you will receive for every 10 pounds you lose.
I received my 10 pound NutriBear last week. I know it is just a little stuffed bear, but it really made me feel good to pull "Pound" out of that little box. Seeing that cute little guy with the big 10 on his chest reminded me of how far I have come on my journey. He is motivating me to want another one. 20 pounds is a little past my goal weight, but you never know.
I can see how I might just hit that 20 pound mark since the Nutrisystem plan is so easy to follow. With all of the great foods I receive from Nutrisystem, along with my healthy add ins, I don't often find myself wanting to stray from the program. Some of the delicious foods I enjoyed last week were Chocolate Chip Scone for breakfast, Chicken Quesadilla for lunch, Rotini with Meatballs and Tomato Sauce for dinner, and Chocolate Cake for dessert.
Now for my weekly weigh in. I will admit that this 4 day weekend I just had was tough for me as far as my meals. There was a play date on Friday and a birthday party on Saturday, both of which had some yummy desserts that I just couldn't resist. Then there may or may not have been an incident Saturday night that involved a little too much wine, which led me to needing some "feel better food" on Sunday. With all that, though, I still managed to lose almost a pound! I guess when you eat well for the majority of your meals in a given week, cheating a little here and there doesn't totally blow your diet out the window.
Week One Loss: -3.2

Week Four: Vacation

Thank you all for following along with me on my Nutrisystem journey! I hope you will check back next week to see my progress.

You are so sweet, LeeAnn, I'm thrilled to be a part of your motivation... but clearly you are rocking this program all on your own!
Yay for Pound though, I completely agree with you that it's just a stuffed bear but it has the ability to make you feel pretty darn good. I wouldn't be surprised if you make it to the 20 lb mark easy! :)
Wow you are doing great!
Awesome! Good for you!
