First Circus Experience

A couple weeks ago my friend Elizabeth from 20something Saver asked me if I wanted some tickets for the kids to the Piccadilly Circus. Now, I usually don't go to places like the circus, zoos and even Sea World because I don't like large wild animals being kept in captivity. I knew the kids would LOVE it, though, so I accepted the tickets and we headed off to the circus last Friday afternoon.

Right as we first walked in there was a little ring with pony rides, and just outside of it a bunch of goats were walking around that we could feed. Rylie LOVED feeding the goats. To my surprise, Bryce got in on it too and wasn't afraid of them like I thought he would be.

Once her cup of goat food was gone, Rylie looked around for something else fun to do and saw that she could ride an elephant! So we bought her a ticket and off she went. She has no fear. She climbed right up on that elephant like nothing!

Once Rylie dismounted from the elephant, we decided to take our seats since the show was about to start.

My mom was with us too and took this family picture. We don't have many.

The kids really enjoyed the circus and paid attention better than I thought they would. I knew Rylie would watch it, but I didn't think Bryce would sit still for very long. He sat through the whole thing, though, and enjoyed it every bit as much as Rylie did. Every time music would play he would start dancing. I missed half of the acts because I was too busy watching him do his "moves".

Of course part of the fun of going to the circus is eating a bunch of junk food, which we did. Bryce's favorite was the cotton candy! He was a sticky mess afterwards!

During intermission the kids got to pet a miniature horse, got some more snacks, and Rylie got another elephant ride! We actually put Bryce and Brian on it too, but since Bryce wouldn't hold on to the little chains, they made him get off. I thought it was kind of silly at first, but they have their rules and it is for our safety.

All in all, it was a fun evening for the kids. You'll notice that I didn't talk much about the circus itself, because that really needs an entire post dedicated to it. I just wanted to show some cute pictures of the kids and talk about the fun they had. Stop back by next week to hear what I thought about the circus, and why we probably won't go back again.

I cannot believe that Rylie wanted to go on the elephant!! That little girl has no fear..LOL! Looks like the kids really enjoyed themselves and that makes the whole evening worth it. And Bryce looks too cute with his cotton candy face :)

Mommy *loves* cotton candy - but I wouldn't even try it last week... too sticky for me. I downed the fresh fruit cup she bought me as an alternative, though, and then she questioned if we were *really* related. :)

Looks like they had a great time with the animals! I am your newest follower from Relax and Surf Sunday!

So much fun! Cam went through a huge elephant phase and rode a few at our county fair. It's such a conflict...on one hand you want to see their faces light up, and on the other hand you feel bad for the animals, their conditions, and the whole concept of a circus. Can't wait to hear the rest of the story.
