Quick Update On Bryce

I wanted to post a quick update about Bryce's arm situation...

We took the cast off Saturday evening. After it was off, he was still holding his arm flexed against his belly and wouldn't move it. We let him play for a little bit to see if he would move it, and he really didn't. He still cried when we tried to touch it, but it wasn't the screaming that he was doing Friday night. We finally decided to give him a bath and then put the cast back on.

After his bath, he really fussed a lot when I was trying to dry him, so we knew the cast needed to go back on. We turned on the TV and Brian got to work putting the mesh sleeve over his arm and wrapping it in the cotton that had to go on before the plaster cast. As Brian was putting all of that on, he was moving Bryce's arm all around and he was just watching TV and didn't seem to mind it. Then Brian really started bending it and straightening it, and he still didn't even make a peep, so we decided to leave the cast off.

Most of today he was favoring that arm and wouldn't put weight on it, but he was moving it just fine. We spent a lot of time in the pool today and he was being his normal, crazy self. As the day went on he did more with that arm and was picking up toys and moving it just fine. He still won't put much weight on it, though. I think it may still be a little sore, but it is probably OK. I'm going to call his pediatrician in the morning and see what they think, but at this point, I'm not worried about rushing to the orthopedic doc first thing tomorrow morning.

Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers for my little guy!

Whew! I'm so glad to hear that things have gotten better and I hope that the pediatrician confirms that just letting things rest a little more will get Bryce back to 100%!

Bless him! That's good news, hopefully he will be back to using the arm fully in next to know time, what a relief for you!

I am glad to read this update! It sounds like as he forgets the trauma of it hurting so badly he will be just fine!
Have a great day!
