Protect Your Child's Eyes With Babiators {Review & Giveaway}

Babiators

There is a recurring theme popping up here at The Life of Rylie...and Bryce too! That theme is summer, and all the fun that comes with it. When we think of the hot, sunny days that summer brings, we also think about how to protect ourselves from the heat and the sun. We drink plenty of water to stay hydrated. We apply sunscreen to protect our skin from the sun's damaging rays. We wear sunglasses because it is just too bright outside and constantly squinting is no fun.

I always wear sunglasses when I am outside. I don't drive without them. Even on cloudy days I usually have my sunglasses on. Not only do sunglasses keep me from squinting, they protect my eyes from the harmful rays of the sun. My kids wear sunglasses too. Well, Rylie does. Bryce hasn't gotten to where he really likes them yet. They both have light blue eyes and are very sensitive to the sun, so when we are outdoors, I always try to get them to wear sunglasses.

Children's eyes have fewer natural protections against UV exposure than adults do. It has also been concluded through published scientific research that up to 50% of lifetime UV ray exposure may occur by age 18, so it is very important to make sure your child's eyes are protected from the sun! Babiators protect your child's eyes by offering 100% protection from UVA and UVB rays.

Babiators sunglasses are safe, durable and awesome! Not only do they offer 100% protection from UVA and UVB rays, they are made without BPA, phthalates, lead, or other harmful materials. The acrylic lenses are impact and shatter resistant. The frames are made from rubber, rather than the typical plastic, so they can withstand whatever your child throws at them. And as far as being awesome - well, who doesn't look cool in aviator-style sunglasses?

Babiators Blue Angels Blue

We received a pair of Babiators for review. Babiators come in two sizes: Junior Babiators (Ages 1-3) and Classic Babiators (Ages 3+). They come in four great colors - Black Ops Black, Blue Angels Blue, Rockstar Red and Princess Pink. I really LOVE the Princess Pink, but since Rylie has several pairs of sunglasses, we went with the Junior Babiators in Blue Angels Blue for Bryce.

Bryce wearing Babiators

I was surprised at first that Bryce let me put the Babiators on him, and even more surprised that he left them on. They are very lightweight, and they seemed comfortable. I think once he realized that he wouldn't have to squint any longer, he actually liked wearing them. He played outside for a while, and left his cool sunglasses on the whole time.

Bryce wearing Babiators

The Babiators fit his head and face as far as the general size, but they did slide down his nose some. It didn't seem to bother him at all, and he would just keep pushing them up while he was playing. Unfortunately, when they slide down, those UV rays can sneak in through the top. These will still be great for the car when he is sitting still, and hopefully once he grows a little bit they will stay up on him.

The Junior Babiators actually fit perfectly on Rylie. She is 3.5, but the website does say that if you are unsure about the size to order the smaller size. If your child is on the smaller side like Rylie is, I would definitely go with the Junior Babiators.

Rylie wearing Babiators Rylie wearing Babiators

Overall, I really like the Babiators. I feel that it is safe to let the kids run around and play with them on, because I don't think they will break and injure their faces. I also feel confident that the lenses stand up to their claims that they protect children's eyes 100% from the harmful UV rays of the sun. Oh, and they just look cool too.

Babiators retail for $19.99, and can be purchased online, or at select retail stores. I feel that this is a very reasonable price for these great sunglasses! All Babiators come with a Wear and Tear Guarantee, and they will replace them if they do happen to break (from normal wear and tear) within a year from purchase.

SPF Swimsuits – Either at the beach or pool, your child is at risk of UV rays. Protective swimsuits can block harmful rays from the sun and are also rash-proof. Ensure that your child has a great day outside without getting a sunburn by finding the perfect SPF swimsuit
