We did some zip lining through the rain forest...
...drinking at the swim up bar...
...and just enjoyed the view from the resort.
It was such an awesome vacation! In fact, before we even left, we talked about going back there for our 5 year anniversary. Little did we know back then that we wouldn't be doing any traveling over the next few years. Now that we're only one year away from our five year anniversary, I find myself wanting to go somewhere new. Who knows how many opportunities we will have to travel, so we might as well go somewhere we haven't been before, right?
But where? Australia, maybe? I have always wanted to visit Australia. Brian wants to visit Fiji. That would be cool too. Or even Spain. When I think of Spain I think of a place that is colorful, vibrant, and full of energy. Yeah, Spain would be a great vacation destination.
As you can see, my choices of places to visit aren't in the US. Which means we better start saving now. Just like we didn't realize we wouldn't be doing much traveling over the last four years, we also didn't realize how different our finances would be. Things change when you have two kids in daycare. Vacations aren't usually cheap, especially when you want to go to a different country. I priced some flights to Spain, and even though I found some great deals, we're still looking at over $1,000 for just the plane tickets. Then we have to consider lodging, food and activities while we're there.
We better start saving now! We have less than a year to go.
