It has been one week since I started my Nutrisystem journey, and I am happy to say that I am loving the program so far! This is so much more than a diet. I am actually learning how to eat RIGHT, which is something I will be able to continue doing even after I meet my weight loss goal.
Up until this last week, I rarely ate vegetables. Vegetables just weren't something I wanted to waste my appetite on. When I received my first Nutrisystem food order and read over the plan details, I was almost disgusted by the amount of vegetables I was supposed to eat. But you know what? It really isn't that bad, and I'm actually starting to enjoy the vegetables I have been eating. I usually have green beans and carrots with my Nutrisystem lunch entree, and for dinner I either have broccoli and squash, or a salad. But my salads don't look like they used to. No, they're much more colorful now with bright red tomatoes and dark green peppers. And not only am I enjoying the vegetables, I am starting to feel better overall, because I think my body is getting some nutrients that it has been lacking.
The Nutrisystem food is delicious! I haven't had anything that I didn't like. Everything is very easy to prepare, too! Some of my favorites this week have been the Garden Vegetable Omelet for breakfast, Red Beans & Rice with Sausage for lunch, Spinach and Cheese Stuffed Shells for dinner, and Peppermint Cookie Patty for dessert. Yum!
These delicious foods have made the Nutrisystem plan easy to stick with. This is the perfect weight loss plan for a busy mom like me! I get my food together at night to take to work with me the next day, and it doesn't take much time at all. I make my dinners while Brian finishes up dinner for himself and the kids.
I am even getting an added bonus from all of this! My super picky daughter is very interested in what I am eating and always wants to try some. We have found new foods that she likes this way. She now wants to eat salad with me, and share my broccoli. I hope that now that my kids see me eating vegetables with each meal that they will want to eat more themselves.
And now for the best part. I'm sure you want to know if I lost any weight in just a week on Nutrisystem. I'm so excited to tell you that I did! My weight last Sunday was 148.2 pounds, and my weight this morning was 145. How awesome is that?
