Holiday Road

Happy Friday! By the time most of you read this post, we will be on the road to Alabama. Every May we take a road trip to see my aunt and her family. Before kids, it took a little over 6 hours to get there. Last year it took us 9. Whenever I think about our fun little jaunt through the state of Florida, I can't help but sing the theme song to one of the funniest movies of all time...

OK, so I know I totally just showed my age there, but if for some reason you aren't familiar with the hilarity of National Lampoon's Vacation, trust me, it's funny. Of course this is not going to be quite the adventure the Griswold's had on their way to Walley World, but it will be an adventure nonetheless. It always is.

Mama, the kids and I are off for a fun weekend with family! Brian doesn't usually take these trips with us. Instead, he stays home with the furry kids and attempts to knock a few things off our to-do list. Hmmm, who is really on vacation here? My cousin Alaina's 11th birthday was yesterday, so we will be there for her party Saturday. Chances are my aunt and I will sneak away for a little peace and quiet (and shopping!) on Sunday, and then we'll be heading back home on Monday. We always have a great time when we're there!
