Casey Anthony Trial Details: News Or Not?

If you live in the United States, chances are you know who Casey Anthony is. Just in case you don't know, she is accused of murdering her two year old daughter, Caylee, in 2008. (For all of the details, you can check out Orlando's local news station, CFNews13.)

This case is HUGE here in Orlando, since this is where it all happened. I will admit that I am intrigued by this case, even though it has already gone on way too long, and the trial hasn't even started yet. They are in their second week of jury selection, and they still haven't picked the jury. The jury selection, by the way, is happening in Clearwater. Can you imagine the disruption that is going to take place in the lives of the jurors? Some may be happy about their "vacation" in Orlando, but I wouldn't be. No way.

I won't be watching every minute of the trial, but I will keep up to date on it. I, personally, think she is guilty and I hope the jury convicts her. I can't imagine hurting my babies. How can anyone commit such a heinous act????

Anyway, this case has been a media frenzy since the beginning. I have the local news on every morning while I'm getting ready for work, and in the past three years, I don't recall many days that I didn't hear the name Casey Anthony. The news on most days is very informative and interesting, but some days, it just gets ridiculous. For instance, last week we found out all about Casey's jail stay in Pinellas County. We now know what her cell is like, her meal times, and even what she is eating while she is there. This isn't news. What, did they just run out of things to talk about, so they fill the "Casey Anthony slot" with fluff?

What's your take? Do these details really matter? Do YOU care what Casey eats every day? Also, I would love to know your opinion on Casey's guilt.

Personally speaking, I think she's guilty. I don't live in Orlando, or Florida for that matter, but from what details I know: the cover-up nanny, the month-long hiatus, the dance-all-night drink sessions, the odorous trunk... they sound pretty incriminating for an "innocent" woman.

I look forward to reading more, and I hope you're having a great day!

I have to say I think she is guilty, also. I can't imagine the hoopla where you live surrounding this. I'll be checking in on this one also because I'm interested in seeing how this plays out.

Guilty!!! I've kept up with the story too. Back when it all happened it was on all day while I was at work, so I was able too get in the know. Lol. Now, since I don't live in FL my news isn't covering the unimportant details...but I do agree it's been drug out tooooo long. And in my opinion, she doesn't deserve meals! I have no clue how anyone could be so awful. None of the stories ever matched up our played out like she said, so I say she better get convicted. Let's hope they get thirty jury picked and the show on the road.

I totally think she's guilty. I think that doing pieces like a day in the life is giving too much focus on her. She needs not to be honored at all.

My sister follows this closely. I don't pay attention at all. I think she is guilty. I think it is sad that someone could do that to a child. I just don't understand how. My sister keeps me up to date whether I want to know or not.

This case makes me sick. This morning while driving to work I randomly thought about what little Caylee would think about all this looking down at her mom from heaven. Of course, Caylee with all of her innocence and unconditional love for her mother, probably would forgive Casey for this. Caylee probably wants nothing more than a hug from her mother. Makes my eyes tear just thinking about how adults can do such heinous things to the most innocent people on earth - children.

My heart says she is guilty, my head tells me that is for the jury to decide. I hope justice prevails.

With how Casey has been treated by the media, I HOPE she's guilty. If she's innocent, her life is still ruined...and I would hate for the real killer to still be running free. But I think Casey is guilty. The evidence from the trunk of her car, her withholding the fact that she was missing for so long...what mother would do that? If my kid was missing for five MINUTES I'd be in a frenzy.

But no. What she eats and what her cell is like...I couldn't care less. That's not news.

Although I always try to give the benefit of the doubt, I would have to say guilty because of how long it took for her to let anyone know that Casey was gone. Seriously? My youngest is 10, and I freak out if he's not where I thought he was for a few minutes.

I decided about three years ago not to watch the news...and I still don't. I hadn't even heard of this story. So sad.
