Add Some Color With Vera Bradley {Review}

When it comes to purses, I am a one-purse kind of girl. I carry the same one until I wear it out. It is always brown or black, so that it "goes" with everything. Boring, I know. When I see handbags with beautiful prints and vibrant colors, I usually just admire them from afar.

When you think of bags with beautiful prints and vibrant colors, what is the first brand you think of? I imagine most of you think of Vera Bradley. I have always loved the look of Vera Bradley handbags and every time I see them I think "one of these days I'm going to step out of my boring comfort zone and buy one of those!" Unfortunately, I have not made that step. I still carry my boring old brown purse.

Just in case you live under a rock and don't know about Vera Bradley, let me tell you a little about them. For over 20 years, Vera Bradley has been creating stylish quilted cotton luggage, handbags and accessories. Named after one of the co-founder's mothers, Vera Bradley was created when two friends were in an airport and noticed the lack of feminine looking luggage. Within weeks, these two women created a company that is now nationally and internationally recognized for their unique handbags and luggage items.

I recently received two Vera Bradley items for review. I received the Get Carried Away Tote and Cooler in two of the newest summer colors!

The ultimate in travel, our Get Carried Away Tote is designed to function as a travel companion. Unique, breakaway zipper gives the option of securely closing the bag (like a duffel or luggage item) or leaving it wide open! Tons of pockets (some plastic-lined!) and positionable shoulder pads make traveling comfortable and easy. Go ahead, Get Carried Away!

I immediately fell in love with the Get Carried Away Tote, which came in the Watercolor pattern. This is a HUGE bag!

The Get Carried Away Tote can be used in so many ways! I can use it for my weekend trips to St. Pete to see friends and family, or for all of the kids' stuff that I have to take with us when we head out on the weekends.

My favorite feature of this bag is all of the different pockets! I am always searching for a large bag with pockets, and up until now, couldn't find one I really liked. This one is great! There are pockets on the outside and on the inside. The two side pockets on the inside are even plastic lined, which is perfect for bathroom items that tend to leak, or even the kids' drinks that I always take with us when we're out.

When I go away for a weekend trip, I usually take two bags - one for my clothes and one for my toiletries. I no longer have to do that. I can easily fit everything right in the Get Carried Away Tote! I don't have to worry about my shampoo and conditioner bottles falling over and leaking out all over my clothes, since I can put everything in the pockets and know that they will all stay upright.

Another feature that I love about the Get Carried Away Tote is that it is machine washable! It has an insert in the bottom that keeps it flat, which has to be removed, but the bag itself can be tossed in the washer.

Have I mentioned that I LOVE this bag?

The other item I received for review was the Cooler in English Meadow.

This colorful Cooler has a design that features easy-to-clean surfaces inside and out, a handy front pocket for napkins or utensils, and a silky-smooth adjustable shoulder strap. Inside the Cooler, snacks and drinks stay cold and fresh.

I'm a little bummed about how the first picture came out, because you can't see the true colors in the English Meadow pattern, which I love. It is such a bright, summery pattern.

I was glad to have received the Cooler, since I have been taking my lunch to work lately. I like that it is plastic lined so that it is super easy to clean if anything should spill inside. This can fit a small lunch in it, and is great for snacks. I can see many juice boxes going in this cooler.

The quality of the Vera Bradley bags is awesome! Both of these bags are put together very well and I can tell that they will hold up for a long time.

I am definitely a new Vera Bradley fan! In fact, I will soon be upgrading my boring old brown leather purse for one (or two, or three) of these vibrant handbags. I definitely need to add some color to my life!

Dammit - I thought this was going to be another give-away for me to enter. When we talk about our vices...this used to be one of mine. For awhile I was buying a new bag with each season. I used the huge totes as diaper bags and loved them because they are lightweight and I can wash them, which is so necessary. I also have 2 of the coolers...yes, 2. ONe for me and one for the kids snacks when we go to the park after school. Those are the best things ever, and I love that the strap is long and I can sling it over my shoulder.

Now, I think VB should send me some free stuff since I did a review too ;) LOL!

I am with Carol-I was hoping this was a giveaway! I actually just bought a new Vera on Monday and a wallet to match. I have had them for years and Haley's diaper bag was Vera. This winter I bought a leather purse and it drove me nuts I couldn't wash it.
