Tell Us Something Good

If you're a regular reader of The Life of Rylie...and Bryce too!, then you know that 2011 has been a particularly crappy year for me. The kids were sick a lot at the beginning of the year. We had that crazy cancer scare with Rylie that caused her to undergo some medical testing, as if she hadn't already been going through enough with the allergy testing due to her nut allergy. A couple months ago my dog died unexpectedly. Bryce had more surgery to re-do his tubes and take his adenoids out, only to get yet another ear infection two weeks later. We found out shortly thereafter that he has to have more surgery to have a hernia repaired. And the last major tragedy that turned my world upside down was when my dad passed away two weeks ago.

I don't dare ask "what will happen next?" because inevitably, something will. I have to start focusing on the good in my life, or I will surely go insane. There is a lot of good to focus on. I have a wonderful husband who loves me with all of his heart. I have two beautiful children that light up my life. I have my mom who is my best friend, and my brother who will always be there for me. And I have some of the most awesome friends a girl can have.

My favorite radio show, The Morning Mash Up, has a day each week when they have people call in and share their good news. They say "tell us something good, because that's what we want to hear!" I always find myself smiling along with the people that call in. I thought it would be fun to bring something like that to my blog, so I teamed up with my friend Andrea from Angelica's Awesome Adventures to bring you a new, fun meme called "Tell Us Something Good..."

The Life of Rylie...and Bryce too!

Every Tuesday, we want to hear your good news! It can be something as simple as having a fun day with your family, or big news like getting married or having a baby. Hey, you can even use it an excuse to brag...about your kids, something you bought, something you won, whatever. We will also be posting our "something good". You can leave your good news in a comment on our posts, or better yet, grab our pretty button, write up a post on your blog and add it to the linky at the bottom of one of our posts. We'll be sure to stop by and check out your posts, because we want to hear about the good in your lives too!

So stop back by tomorrow for the first installment of "Tell Us Something Good...", and hopefully you'll be able to do just that!

Oh sweetie, I hadn't realised your year has been so overwhelming, understatement I know! This is such a fantastic idea, love it, I wish I was blogging and there was something like this a year or so ago! I just love hearing 'happy' things, makes you realise that its the small things we really need to focus on and appreciate.

Sorry to hear about your Dad. That's really rough. It sounds like a tough start to 2011 and what a wonderful idea to share something good!

Something good for me? Today two of our sons have been asking some very important "spiritual" questions which makes us very happy because they are thinking and mulling over what we are teaching them.
