Find Your Child's Perfect Teacher

This post brought to you by Kidzmet. All opinions are 100% mine.

I think teachers are wonderful people. It may be because my own mother was a teacher for 30 years, or it may be because of all of the great teachers I had that influenced me in one way or another. I firmly believe that there are no bad teachers. Every teacher I know dedicates their lives to the profession, and if they didn't want to do it, I don't think they would have become teachers in the first place.

That said, every teacher has their own way of teaching. And every child has their own way of learning. For example, I always learned by doing. Teachers could stand up in front of the class and explain something in depth, but I usually wouldn't grasp the concept until I actually did it. So when I ended up in a class with a teacher that spent more time explaining than letting us actually practice a concept, I didn't do as well.

With Kidzmet, you can ensure that your child's teacher is a good match for them. When you create a Pairing Portrait at Kidzmet, you will receive a detailed snapshot of your child's personality type, cognitive style, multiple intelligence strengths a recommended teaching approach. You can then send this snapshot to the principal or guidance counselor at your child's school for consideration when they are planning the class mixes for the 2011-2012 school year, so they can match your child up with the right teacher.

This Pairing Portrait is FREE for parents and will only take 10 minutes to complete. That 10 minutes could be critical to determining your child's success in his or her next year of school. Make sure you check it out!

But will the principal or guidance counselor actually pay attention to the Pairing Portrait? There are only 12 kids in my daughter's class this year, and the director is having a hard enough time scheduling their needs as best she can. Between the 2 classes being offered for her age next year, it's possible to have to fit 12 more personalities. Can an elementary school principal or guidance counselor actually accomplish this when they're class sizes are 20-30??? And there are multiple classes?

It sounds like a great tool for your own knowledge, but I'm not sure a public school would actually use it.
