Surgery Tomorrow

We're off to the surgery center bright and early tomorrow morning. Bryce is having his adenoids removed and having his tubes re-done. For those of you that haven't seen the 497 posts about his ear infections, he has been having them since he was just a few months old, and they didn't stop when he got his tubes put in almost a year ago.

We're hoping this surgery stops all of the sickies for him. I have heard from so many people that after their kids had their adenoids out, they never got sick again. Hopefully this will be the case for my poor little guy.

I looked back through my blog to find the post about his first ear tube surgery, since I couldn't even remember when it was, and couldn't help but grab this picture and post it again today...

Who is that fat little baby? I can't believe how much he has changed in the last 10 months!

Anyway, we have to be at the surgery center at 6:30, and his surgery is at 8:00. I'm so glad they scheduled it that early since he can't have anything to eat or drink in the morning. Lately, as soon as he wakes up he either says "joooooce", or points at the refrigerator, so that is not going to be fun withholding it from him tomorrow. Hopefully I can just get him up, change his diaper, throw some clothes on him and put him in the car. Easy, right? Ha!

This is obviously a very routine procedure, but I can't help but feel anxious. It is never fun having your child put under anesthesia. I have complete faith in his doctor, though, so I know everything will be fine.

Go away sickies! Go away!

My daughter was in the same boat when she was littler she had tubes and then about a year later tubes again and adenoids out. She is 5 now and has only had maybe one ear infection since!

Bryce is such a cutie! he will do great! I'll put you and him in my prayers. :)

Good Luck!!! My 5 year old had his adenoids and tonsils out over the summer. His illnesses have decreased but he still gets sick. In fact he has a really bad cold right now and pink eye. The first couple of days is going to be a little rough but about the 3 and 4th day they act like their normal selves.

My nephew is the same way and recently had his adenoids removed -- we're hoping it helps him.

{{hugs}} tomorrow -- it is never easy to see our babies go through illness and or surgery.

Good luck tomorrow! I'm sure you are a wreck even though he will be fine! My friend's daughter had hers out a few month ago and said it was such an easy recovery. I hope it's the same for you guys! XO

Good Luck LeeAnn I'm sure all will go well. I can tell you from my experience the surgery DID NOT keep Christopher from getting sick, however it did keep him from getting ear infections.

Hugs!

Poor, Bryce! I hope all goes well with removing the adenoids. You might be able to just keep in his pjs for the procedure since he'd be more comfortable and save yourself the extra step of getting him dressed.
