Perkins Pancake Day To Benefit Give Kids The World {Giveaway}

As a parent, I understand what it is like when my child is sick. Even when my children have a simple cold, it breaks my heart to see them so miserable. We have also had our share of scares. Between Bryce's rapid head growth and Rylie's nut allergy and intestinal problems, I know what it feels like to really worry. Luckily, we have gotten good news every time we have had a scare. There are some families that aren't as lucky, though. There are some parents that receive devastating news that their child has a life-threatening illness. I can only imagine the pain and heartbreak that these families go through, and my heart goes out to them.

I don't think anything can really take away the pain the parents of these children feel, and the constant worry they go through. Not to mention the children themselves. Between not feeling well and the doctor's and hospital visits, children with life-threatening illnesses go through so much, in such a short amount of time. Even though nothing can make this all better, there is an organization that can hopefully put a smile on the faces of these kids and their parents. That organization is Give Kids the World.

Give Kids The World (GKTW) is a non-profit organization that provides week-long vacations to children with life-threatening illnesses and their families at a fanciful, “storybook” retreat in Central Florida. Since 1986, GKTW has served more than 100,000 families from all 50 states and 70 countries. Families enjoy a week-long, cost-free vacation that includes accommodations at the Give Kids The World Village, meals, donated attraction tickets (including Disney World), and more. They even get to eat ice cream at breakfast!

Give Kids The World is such an awesome organization! With the help of many generous individuals, corporations and partnering wish-granting organizations, Give Kids the World is able to grant wishes to children that otherwise would not be able to be granted. I am happy to support any organization that helps children in any way.

On Monday, March 21, more than 420 participating Perkins restaurants across the U.S. and Canada will be offering guests their legendary, made-from-scratch buttermilk pancakes – for free – during PERKINS PANCAKE DAY. In return, Perkins simply requests that guests consider making a donation of any amount to benefit Give Kids The World.

Perkins has supported Give Kids the World for over 15 years through annual fundraising efforts, community-oriented events and specially-marked coin boxes located in the restaurants. Perkins also operates the Gingerbread House restaurant in the Give Kids the World Village, which serves over 200,000 free meals to Give Kids the World guests each year.

Not that you need another reason to eat breakfast at Perkins on that day (or any day for that matter), but I can tell you from experience that Perkins' pancakes are delicious! My kids love "breakfast for dinner", and we have spent several evenings eating at Perkins. I hope you will join me in supporting Give Kids the World during Perkins Pancake Day!
