When I was little, I loved board games! In fact, I still do. I hope my kids eventually share my love for games so we can all play them together. Rylie has a few games already, but doesn't have much interest in playing them. The problem is that she is always on the go, and doesn't like to sit still for long. When I was asked to review the Mega Bloks Domino Build Game, I thought it would be great for Rylie since she can build with blocks while playing the game, which she really likes to do. We have four different sets of Mega Bloks, and both of my kids love to build with them!
One look at the box, and I could tell that this might be THE game for Rylie. There are bright pictures of all of her favorite animals, and she could see the Mega Bloks inside the box.
When I asked her if she wanted to play the game with me, she very enthusiastically said yes!
The game comes with 16 Mega Bloks, 30 domino tiles, and 4 animal character cards. The object of the game is to collect all four block of your zoo animal. To collect the blocks, you make domino matches by matching colors and animals. When you get a match, you get to collect one of your blocks. When you're able to build your animal, you win!
We had a lot of fun playing this game. Rylie caught on very quickly too. She knew exactly how to place the dominoes when she got her matches. It was so cute to watch her play.
The best thing about this game is that it is played pretty quickly, so it held her attention. It was very easy for her to understand, and I really didn't have to help her. She was so excited when she put the last piece of her polar bear together!
Bryce enjoyed putting the blocks together while we played.
The Mega Bloks Domino Build game is geared towards boys and girls, ages 3-6. It teaches children how to distinguish between different colors and shapes through observation, touch and taking objects into their hands. It also helps develop fine motor skills and hand-to-eye coordination.
