Kakadu Pet Slicker Brush {Review & Giveaway}

Golden Retrievers are great dogs! Anyone who has ever come into contact with one of these sweet dogs will most likely agree with me. They are loyal, great with children and are not usually aggressive unless they need to be. The only thing about this breed that isn't so great is the amount of shedding they do. We have a golden retriever, and let me tell you, when we vacuum, we could make a little puppy with all of the hair that we dump out of the canister!

One of the best ways to keep a dog's hair off the floor is to brush them daily. (I need to remember my own advice sometimes.) We like to use a slicker brush for brushing our sweet Chloe. Slicker brushes remove mats, pull out dead hair and stimulate a dog's skin for a healthy coat.

I recently received a Kakadu Pet Slicker Brush for review. This slicker brush features a one touch, press & release cleaning mechanism. All of the other slicker brushes we have purchased in the past come with a little pick to get all of the hair out, which isn't the easiest thing to do when you have a hairy beast like I do, so I was looking forward to trying this self-cleaning brush out.

Chloe isn't necessarily a fan of being brushed, but she always stands still. The Kakadu Pet Slicker Brush has an anti-slip, easy grip handle for comfort and control, and the stainless steel pins went through her hair easily. You can see after just a few passes how much dead hair the brush pulled out.

Now for the best part of this brush, and the feature that makes it better than all of the others we have ever had - the one touch, press & release cleaning mechanism. Wow! This was so easy to clean! You just simply press the button on the back of the brush to retract the stainless steel pins, and brush the hair off into the trash can. There was nothing to it!
