I Sure Did Need That Laugh This Morning

Happy Monday my bloggy friends! I hope everyone had a great weekend. For the most part, my weekend was good. I went “home” to St. Pete to have some girl time (kid-free) with my best friend Rebecca. We had a GREAT time together, and I’ll tell you later in the week why I’m probably not going to be allowed to go off by myself for another “girls weekend”. Haha

My Monday hasn’t started off all that well, though. I stayed up way too late last night and didn’t end up falling asleep until like 1. At 1:30 Bryce started fussing and ended up in bed with us because I was just too tired to sit up with him. (I think he is still in some pain from his surgery last week.) After being kicked and head-butted for about an hour I finally got to sleep. We either slept through our alarms this morning or turned them off, so we got up late. Then of course both kids were over-the-top cranky this morning so we left late, got to school/work late, etc. It just wasn’t a good start to the morning.

Needless to say, I could have used a laugh this morning, and luckily I got one. I have to take both kids to the pediatrician this afternoon. Rylie has to get some follow up blood work (yeah, that will be loads of fun) and Bryce is going for his 18 month well check (I am postponing immunizations until at least next week until he fully recovers from surgery). I went to the pediatrician’s website earlier today to take a look at their checklist for the 18 month visit. It basically says what kids that age should be doing, and I wanted to know if Bryce was on track according to their guidelines. One of the bullet points on the checklist was this…

“Toddlers will sometimes get on your nerves. They are just learning about their world and not necessarily getting on your nerves on purpose.”

Hahahahaha. Really? Because I’m sure that Bryce sits down and thinks about how to intentionally get on my nerves. Better yet, I’m sure he and Rylie conspire to join forces and really drive me to the brink of insanity. Now that I think about it, that is probably what happened this morning. :-P

Have a great week, my friends!

Funny and good to remember! My friend Becky says "God made kids so cute on purpose, otherwise we'd kill 'em." That may be true too! Happy Monday!

Most of the time? When I throw my plate off my highchair, I'm only testing out gravity. When I throw a tantrum over not getting my way (or getting my way, but too late, or too early, or I changed my mind), it is because I am not yet capable of rational thought.

But sometimes? Sometimes I like to take things I know I'm not supposed to have and run - for fun!
