We had a quiet weekend. It was just me and the boys, since Rylie went to Mama and Papa's house for a few days. It pretty much rained all weekend, so we just hung out around the house all weekend. It was nice, though. So nice, that I didn't even get out of my pajamas yesterday!
Bryce got all the attention over the weekend, and boy did he love it! He was almost like a different kid. He was super happy all weekend, and the "terrible two" tantrums were few and far between. I guess that is what happens when he gets to play with whatever he wants to, and doesn't have to worry about his big sister snatching it away from him. No, it isn't a one way street...the snatching goes both ways.
I don't get to spend that much one on one time with my little buddy. On the weekends we are usually all together, and then during the week Rylie always wants me to get her ready for school in the morning and get her ready for bed at night. I really enjoyed the time I had with Bryce over the weekend. Especially when Brian went to a Super Bowl party and it was just the two of us. He is such a fun little kid!
Bryce is starting to say some words now, and I love each time he says a new one. His favorite word these days is "NO!". Hmmm, I wonder where he learned that? Before this past week, when he wanted more of something he would always sign "more". Well now he signs it and says it. It is so cute! Oh, and I can't forget "Elmo". He dragged every Elmo doll in the house out and kept walking around saying "Melmo, Melmo". He tries to repeat everything you say too. We were doing a puzzle with different color fish, and he had fun saying "purple" and "yellow". He says "nose" and "eye" too, as he points to his nose and eyes. I have a feeling that pretty soon I'm going to have two little chatterboxes running around here.
Even though he doesn't talk much yet, the kid understands EVERYTHING you say. You can tell him to do something, and he does it. Throwing things away and cleaning up are his favorite chores right now. He was flailing around while I was trying to change his diaper and I told him that if he didn't hold still he would hit his head on the back of his dresser, and he pointed to it and said "Owwwww". Needless to say, he held still after that. And even when you don't think he is listening, he is. He was engrossed in his dinner the other night and I said something to Brian about how Chloe will probably get fat since she doesn't have to share the kids' hand outs anymore, and Bryce looked at us and gave her a piece of his food. Stinker!
OK, so this post turned out to be a post about Bryce, I guess. I had such a great time with him over the weekend, and I'm still so happy about the quality one on one time we got to have together. He is such a cute, funny, and smart little kid! I just love him so much!
Here are a couple of pictures for your viewing enjoyment. Just because I think they're really stinking cute...
I'd love to know how you spent your weekend. Did anyone have good weather? I think pretty much everyone I know was either snowed-in or rained-in. And for those who watched the Super Bowl, did your team win?
Have a great week, my friends!

I call Elmo "Melmo," too!
No rain here, had a great weekend! Spent some time working with Honey on hooked on phonics because she is so eager to learn to read.
Team did not win in the Super Bowl but I did LOL $125
At home waiting to take Christopher to the doctor to look at his ankle. I don't think it is more then a strain.
I love spending one-on-one time with my kids - I agree, they always act so much better when they don't have to share the attention or the toys.
Did my team win? I live in WI, remember? Woohoo, Packers!! It's a good thing too, I thought my husband and father-in-law might have matching heart attacks if the green and gold lost that one.
He's such a cutie! I'm so worried about having a second kid, I don't know how I can split up time!!
I'm glad you guys had a good weekend.
So glad to hear you had a little bonding time with Bryce. Sometimes that one on one time is so needed for the second child. I know I am the same way as you....most of the time Christopher is getting my attention. Poor Anthony!! The second kid always gets slighted..LOL! But it is good for Rylie too....she is getting all of the attention over at your parents....win, win for both kids :)He is too stinkin' cute that Bryce :)
Glad you had a great weekend, LeeAnn! I try to carve that one-on-one time in too, although I usually spend more of it with Cam, and Daddy usually gets the 1-1 with Chloe. We'll have to work on that :) Superbowl was fun but Chloe was a nightmare. When am I going to learn that I enjoy it more at home? I'll write more on that later! :)
ok. what the heck kind of sap am i that reading this brought tears to my eyes?!?! good tears- like the kidn that just means i TOTALLY get what you mean about loving the time you get with the kid. every and any little moment is just so insanely beautiful lately. gah! :) i'm so glad you got some one on one time; sounds like you guys both really needed it!
Just stoppin by to say thanks for visiting and following! Come back and visit anytime!!
I can't get my 18mo to stop talking! She started with a few words here and there and somewhere along the way she took off with it. Of course "no" and "Elmo" are two of her favorites as well :)
No, my team did NOT win the Superbowl (says the girl from Pittsburgh). I'm not even sure they showed up to the game. Boo!
So glad to know that your weekend was great! Love the pics. Tooooo Cute!!
He's so cute! Mia is the same, understands so much. It's crazy! I love giving her directions because she will always do it! I'm waiting for NO to kick in. :)
